There's a show on netflix called unsolved mysteries that's has an episode regarding the 2011 earthquake and tsunami in japan and like the aftermath. One of the stories was a professor telling a story about a taxi driver who had picked up a guy and when he got to the destination the guy was just gone. Apparently there had been multiple cases of this from different taxi drivers months after the disaster. I'm guessing that was also a case of phantom travelers. It was nice though. The professor said that the drivers he spoke to had also experience loss because of the tsunami and that if those spirits ever needed a ride again they would pick them up and also pay for the fare themselves.
