As a Chicagoan I can confirm people really don’t like putting ketchup on their hotdogs here it’s just how we are😭

Yessss! Every time you guys have said Judah should return I've gotten more and more psyched for this episode. edit: also you should definitely watch community, even outside reaction vids and stuff. you guys catch so many of the pop culture references in bojack, community really rewards that kind of attention (plus it's fuckin funny)

Kc

Arrested development's first three seasons are honestly some of the funniest bits of television I've ever seen. Shame about the latter two seasons, but they don't ruin what came before it. Community would be AMAZING to react to! There's one dud season tbf but the rest are absolutely solid.

tom

I would love Community ^ I don't know how good the girls' pop culture knowledge is, but that's how you best appreciate Community

Dooly

The full reaction plays fine but the edited reaction freezes after about 6 minutes.

Kc

Considering they seem to get most of Bojack's (more than me sometimes honestly hahah) I think they'll be fine! Can do the whole Alison Brie sphere eventually, as I'd give an arm and a leg to see them react to Mad Men

2021-08-15 10:09:55 I’ve watched a lot of Arrested Development. The first three seasons have jokes for watching the show in reverse order. It’s some high level writing.

Ok but y'all gotta admit, Todd wouldn't get in/get away with more than half of the shenanigans he gets away with if he weren't white.

Jay rellim

right lmao that line kinda ruined some of the todd magic i had in my head lol

Ryan Roach

It also helps that he’s fictional, and none of the scenarios he’s involved in would ever happen to anyone of any race.

Ryan Roach

The horse therapist would be able to smell the vodka before he even took a sip. And even if for some reason he didn’t notice from the smell, he would’ve noticed on the very first taste of it on his lips. He’s blaming Bojack for nothing.

Nailsy

Yeah I'm fully aware of that. I'm talking about general things like how consequences don't seem to be a thing for Todd and how he is often coddled by authority figures. How things just "work out". How he can be perfectly comfortable living the life he is now because society doesn't make him feel like he has to prove himself. People look down on him for his status sometimes, sure, but not nearly as much as if he weren't white.

Amanuel Gararo

alright now you have to react to community lol

Rene Aavik

It's actually pretty weird that they manage to catch some of that stuff, they really are not all that attentive generally speaking (prioritizing chatting with each other over listening to the dialogue very often). I will always agree with any suggestions to watch Community though, that show is amazing.

Rene Aavik

I think you can appreciate Community without too much pop culture knowledge, although that certainly improves the viewing experience. And Mad Men is a great show as well, although it's not for everybody for sure.

Rene Aavik

Yeah, just being white makes you impervious to any afflictions life has to offer. Just fucking get over yourself and accept that we're all eating a big shit sandwich here. Attributing any of that to race is just stupid in modern times.

Scrambles

If i was to reccomend a show that is as nuanced as Bojack that has some of the best charcter work on TV - HBOs Barry gets my vote and a new season is coming out soon!

2021-08-15 10:10:01 BoJack is to blame for carrying the vodka around with him and carelessly throwing it out the window of a rehab clinic. And tho I don’t have a personal understanding of it, I’m pretty sure relapsing for an addict is quite easy once you get a taste of it again. So while BoJack didn’t intend to cause harm (like usual), he still did. He just needs to be more aware of how his actions affect others, that’s all

Haha love it, I feel like ketchup is a staple for the west coast but I’ll take mine with sauerkraut 🤤

imonsnow

We’ve really been talking about it! You might see it on a poll soon 🙌🏾

tom

Mr Robot? :(

Avery Winther

dude calm down. no one says being white makes you impervious to life being bad, it's just a half-fun half-serious comment on how todd's silly adventures always go really well for him, and how he'd probably get in more trouble if he was a person of colour.

Avery Winther

i mean... not much of a reaction video if it's just two people sitting in silence lol. plus idk i've watched this show twice already and imon and abi are always pointing out background gags and references that totally passed me by

"Why do you have to be proud of me on YOUR terms? I have friends. I have a job. I'm happy, Jorge!" Those words from Todd, Judah's return, and Bojack's self-therapy made this one of my favorite episodes. Bojack showed here that it's NEVER too late to get your life right. As long as you own your mistakes and take responsibility, there's always a path forwards. God I love this show.

Chelly

The Normies didn’t watch it in silence… just because you might not have anything to say doesn’t mean no one will lol

As a person how experience abuse his father step father. I still understand to a certain degree that he was trying to be the parental figure that he thinks that I needed. But parents are going to only be able to teach as much as they want and sometimes it’s not sufficient enough or they’ve been hurt as well or maybe even live a life that was harsher. But at the end of the day Especially with extended families you are going to be connected to them for the rest of your life. If not with the rest of the other family members just the long way of experience that you probably end up having with them. Especially with with the race think both of them use their racial stereotypes to get done what they needed to do. Which is sad that they are put in those corners where his dad is a Spanish man so he’s looked at as a trash man or a person in maintenance. We’re tod is tod. Once they understand if they both collaborated with each other and find good in each other maybe their relationship could be better but they are going to have to have a lot more talks like they did there. Which is pretty good because Todd is still young so there’s some time to heal.
