This yarn is fascinating. I had no idea that nettle was such a historic fiber, except for the 18th century German fairy tale in which three boys are turned into swans and their sister has to make them shirts out of nettles to transform them back into men...

I did read a Ravelry comment about the yarn that someone knit socks with this and they "disintegrated" after a week of use. So, Kay, you might want to wear your mitts for a bit, or knit a swatch and carry it in your purse for a while to see how the fabric holds up before you put all the work into knitting socks with the yarn. Then again, maybe someone just had a unique experience, that happens too.
