In this video we commence an eight part series of ‘The Bakery Bears Pudding Club’ Season 1. 

This series contains our exclusive Gold Edition’s of each show. Each episode includes lots of footage never seen before for each recipe we cover. These are the complete versions of the show! Episodes 2-8 are accessible exclusively by our Gold & Platinum Patrons.

In todays episode we make 'Syrup Sponge & Custard'. We use the following ingredients:

Syrup Sponge

  • 3 tablespoons Golden Syrup
  • 2 Eggs
  • 4 oz (115g) Self Raising Flour
  • 4 oz (115g) Caster Sugar
  • 4oz (115g) butter/margarine 

Custard

  • 275 ml Single or Double Cream
  • 3 Egg Yolks
  • 1 Level teaspoon Cornflour
  • 1 Level tablespoon Caster Sugar
  • 2 drops of Vanilla (We use Vanilla Paste)

Well, after the spring we had last week, the lockdown we are in and the hail and snow that hit the North East Coast of the UK today - I decided to make this wonderful pudding again (having made it a couple of times in the past 2 years since you did this!) for today's Sunday dinner. The clocks have gone back and we are in lockdown. The Bakery Bears are making my family smile this evening! 💕
