That was me! And as soon as you were hyping up having one question, I KNEW it was going to be about whether or not she was micronised hahahaha! She's micronised. It's actually Seloy Deparra, who was the friend of Miriya's who delivered her to the SDF-1 way back in Bursting Point. Leonard actually publicly hates Zentradi, so his relationship with her is kind of like when redhat politicians rail against the LGBTQ+ community in public, and then get caught on grindr or in a bathroom stall ha! From the novel "The Zentradi Rebellion": *"Seloy had had no inkling of the dangers of Human love, lust, or sexuality when she met Leonard; but she had been willing to give the relationship a try, as Miriya had with Max Sterling. Leonard, though, wasn't looking for a love partner but a disciplinarian—and who better to torture Human flesh than a Zentradi? His addiction to pain and degradation had constituted an Imperative, of sorts, and so his desire to create a child with her had only confused her all the more."* Leonard was a Colonel in the RDF during the first Robotech war, and after surviving it was one of the highest ranking members of the military left alive. Because of this, he was made governor of The Southlands (basically South America, governed from the ruins of Brasilia). Suring the Malcontent Uprisings, Leonard brutally cracks down on any kind of Zentradi protests or even large public gatherings, leading to major escalation. Leonard and his cronies end up declaring independence from the United Earth Government, and creating the Army of the Southern Cross, with Senator Wyatt Moran as his puppet President. Moran was the white-haired fella we saw a couple episodes ago as Prime Minister of Earth.

Justin! So sorry, my friend, for some reason I had convinced myself it was a YouTube comment! I should've known it was you :) Awesome, awesome stuff! If you don't mind I will definitely bring you up next time I record Robotech. Want to give some credit for that amazing gem about Leonard :D

The comic book cover for this episode by Ken Steacy kicks ass. The image on the cover doesn’t take place in the episode (or any episode) but it’s still awesome. He did amazing painted covers for Comico.

I was able to find this for The Macross Saga: https://www.comics.org/series/11694/covers/ “The Big Escape” is one of Steacy’s best. And cover to “Metal Fire” : https://www.comics.org/issue/203899/

Not surprised it was Justin S. I was thinking was most likely Justin given the amount of insight Justin had provided for past episodes. This fellow is definitely the historical archivist for Robotech.
