God, Angel's song broke me; the lyrics and performance are absolutely perfect. The growing despair at the end is heartwrenching.

I've noticed a lot of people complain about this episode and how Angel is portrayed. But tbh, given what this episode reveals, every ounce of his character makes perfect sense. He's a rape victim who is quite literally a slave to his rapist. And worse than that, he is a sex worker who is forced to undergo what appears to almost exclusively be rape play/rape-play-bondage. Meaning he is CONSTANTLY retraumatized. Every time he works. His inability to respect boundaries, his over sexualized behavior, his anger at being called out on the act he HAS to wear lest he be put under more pain, all of it makes perfect sense. Especially when you factor in that he's in hell, a place where the only people thus far who've given enough of a shit to even try to OFFER even the SMALLEST HINT of help have been the people in the hotel. So no one to save him, barely any support structure, constantly retraumatized, a slave to his rapist, and no feasible way out. I really don't get why people complain about his character. He is EXACTLY what a rape victim in his circumstances would be like.
