Great, and sad, discussion. Dr. Middleton always has something insightful to say. I'm reminded of a documentary film I saw many years ago called Just, Melvin: Just Evil, about the foul patriarch of a family whose abuse lasted all the way up until he was finally remanded to a wheelchair. He died while they were making the film. It concludes with his funeral and the scene of all these people he hurt and their long-awaited catharsis, imperfect though it was, sticks in my mind.
