Great episode! So glad we didn't lose your reaction. I had to laugh at you going "that's not his dad" at the handshake. 😂 The actress who played Mulder's sister was the young Linnea who got it on with Daniel. (RIP)

Yup, this was the "turning point" for me that made me into a huge fan of the series, even though I liked it already starting with the Pilot episode. There are certain episodes that make fans go "wow I'm really falling in love with this show". For some it was the Duane Barry arc, for others including myself it was Colony. I knew 100% you would be fascinated by this episode and I was right. It's awesome you were able to save the file despite the storm / power outage. Now, at the end of the episode you referred to the shapeshifter as the "Russian assassin". Keep in mind that this was obviously a lie. It's just a cover story. The Alien Bounty Hunter (shapeshifter), disguised as the CIA guy, tells Mulder and Scully that the killer is a Russian spy-killer. Of course he's not going to tell them the truth. Russians don't bleed green, toxic blood. ;) It's awesome that you remembered the season one finale and the first time we've seen green toxic blood. You picked up on the continuity right away. Highly enjoyed your video, and if I really had to nitpick it, I'd say that you should've left the whole episode play out till the "To be continued" shows up, instead of stopping right before. Either way... take care, and I hope you'll enjoy part two as much as you enjoyed this one.

Just watched your reaction, thank you. This one really kicks it up a notch, this is where the real show begins for me. That said, the episode did feel like it was moving at a fast pace, and things were revealed rather quickly, for example, people kept saying "I have to show you what I found" a lot heh, it's like all the sudden they had info that furthered the plot very quickly, over and over. But overall still a powerful episode, and I like the fast pace.

Love the actor who plays the shapeshifting, green-blooded guy - I've seen him in so many sci-fi shows, presumably because he's unique looking. He was in quite a few Star Trek series (TNG, Enterprise, DS9 and a Star Trek movie). He makes a great alien! He was also in Buffy, but pretty sure you're past those episodes he was in though.

Teth

I remember him from the Three Amigos movie.

Love how you were amped for a mythology/alien ep and the show immediately says "wish granted". To make a stargate comparison, this episode feels like The Tokra or Thor's Hammer in terms of expanding the lore. Not even teasing anymore, just throwing in aliens with toxic green blood, both benign and malicious. It's like they don't even care about us or Earth, this is just a place where their business has brought them. Also with these guys being actual shapeshifters, Mulder's sister should be extra suspect. As others have pointed out Megan Leitch who played Samantha Mulder was in SG1 as Linnea/Ke'ra. Also the FBI agent who was killed was also a doctor in the episode where Carter was captured by Adrian Conrad. Lastly the one I'm surprised you missed since his face is rather memorable, the CIA agent is played by the same actor who played Hathor's lieutenant back in the 2 parter at the end of S2, General Trofsky. Really good episode that starts to pay off the breadcrumbs we've had dropped so far.
