I've always liked this episode for Boomy's lesson and the team-up of Azula, Mai, and Ty Lee. Zhao was a good villain in season 1, but the show is stepping up and so is the threat.

I love this show for its knack for narrative subtly, and the stuff with Azula and Ty Lee is a great example. Even though they're old school friends, they're essentially having a subtextual political battle with one another to get Ty Lee to come with Azula instead of stay at the circus. The score and Ty Lee's face let us know that she's afraid of Azula when Azula says she wants to attend her show, which would have been a pretty innocent statement otherwise. Ty Lee knows Azula is going to fuck with her during the show, and afterwards pretends that it was "the signs" that led her to choose Azula, when really, the choice was made for her before the show even happened and they both know it.
