Now Available!

Heya all! Vils here to proudly announce that Rosas are Red is officially released and available to play now!

As we've said before, this is a fully completed game release, and it should now be bug-free after the little hotfixes we did today.

Rosas are Red on Steam

Deluxe Edition

If you love zooming in, give the Deluxe Edition a shot! It includes a fun bit of bonus material in the form of a super high-quality art pack containing the source resolution images of all the CGs and Emojis, including some marketing stuff like the chibis and the CG used in the banner.

Not to mention the fact that it includes an amazing high-quality version of the original soundtrack by apolxcore which we've been jamming to here at the studio on launch day.

Anduo Bundle

Now that we've got two games on Steam, we figured it'd be cool to put together a bundle that features the Deluxe Edition of Rosas are Red, and Third Crisis. More savings for you if you don't have TC on Steam!

Demos

If you want to try before you buy, we're hosting a demo on Steam, and also a demo on itch.io which can be played in Browser, Android, Linux, Mac, and Windows.

Patreon Access

Alongside access to TC, we're also giving Founder Patrons ($10+) permanent access to the full version of Rosas are Red on itch.io. Simply click the 'patreon-access' link below and confirm your Patreon account, then click the second link below to access the game.

If you've been enjoying our Third Crisis patron releases, you know the drill! Releasing out of beta, we've put out a series of bugfixes and even added a brand new CG along with some new dialogue to the Park scene (we JUST finished that yesterday lmao).

Third Crisis Patch 0.57.1

Speaking of TC, we've also just put out a bugfix patch for TC on Patreon and Steam (still cooking Public atm) that balances some of the recent changes to combat from the Combat Update, fights should be much less impossible to complete now!

Letter from Vils

Okay, with that info dump out of the way. I just wanted to say a few (more) things.

It's been almost six whole years (Dec 2017) since yuripiano and I put together a funny little gamejam game about texting a girl named Rosa on a phone. Jenna was still Tracer at that point, and we hadn't even put out Third Crisis 0.1.0 yet.

It was a fun weekend, and I remember looking back on the result with pride, especially with how fast we were able to cobble it together. If the old me could see what that little game grew up to be, I think she'd be in shock. To say that I'm proud of what Rosas are Red has become now would be a wild understatement. I find it fitting that it has also now become our first game to be launched and fully completed since it was our first game release ever all those years ago back when it was just a little gamejam game.

It hasn't been an easy six years either. So much blood, sweat, and tears went into this cute little game. Even with a month to come to terms with it on the road to the Steam release, it still feels weird to think that Rosas are Red is actually done now. It's been a rollercoaster of a ride.

Other than pride in what we've accomplished, the only other thing I feel is gratitude.

To yuri for being the architect of Rosa's character in that original gamejam, and helping to inform Rosa's personality and dialogue throughout the entirety of development.

To Thao for not only crafting all the amazingly detailed high-quality CGs (3600x5400 btw) but also helping to cement the game's cute tone that makes it so unique for us.

To bear for the massive amount of hard work he's done in every aspect of the game throughout its development cycle. It would not have gotten this far without him.

To Alberto for helping to structure the majority of the story and its scenes, taking a huge workload off my shoulders.

To PMPerfect for putting together the adorable UI and little cats that bounce around CatOS, and reinforcing the game's cuteness energy.

To Zanzo for being a HUGE help with the programming of the game while bear and I focused on Third Crisis and Erokin, not to mention the addition of the Cat Game which was entirely his design.

To Mimi Hung and CinderDryad for embodying Rosa and Mia respectively, their amazing voices were instrumental in making these two characters pop out of the screen and accomplishing the feeling that we set out to do in making it feel like you're texting an actual person.

To Rokean for helping us finally complete the massive writing tasks that the route finales became and getting the writing finished.

To Sempi for going above and beyond in marketing the game during this past month, getting us to over 10k wishlists and onto the front page of Steam via the 'Popular Upcoming' tab (still wild to think about).

To apolxcore for the beautiful soundtrack that we all got to jam to while developing and playing the game.

But most of all I feel gratitude to our amazing patrons, community, and players who have kept us afloat through good times and bad, making Rosas are Red possible alongside the development of Third Crisis and Erokin. When I say this game would not exist without you, I mean it literally would not have existed without you. The support and feedback have been instrumental in bringing this game up to the quality it is today. It would have been canceled many times over otherwise.

So thank you so much. This game is my baby, and I hope you enjoy it.

Letter from Bear

I just wanted to also quickly hop in and say thank you. Thank you all for supporting us through working on multiple games. I know it's a bit of a meme amongst the indie dev community to have multiple projects and that they'll never finish any of them. Yet here we are. Thank you all for sticking with us through the thick of it and believing in us. Getting RaR done was very difficult. There were many setbacks and hurdles. But with your support we were able to tank them and get back on our feet many times with this project.

Your constant support throughout the years it took us to get this project from the game jam to a full polished game was and is our backbone.

Thank you. ♥
