Kitty ( The cursed existence of financial instability ) fo

Thanks for this video, it was interesting. I remember watching Marble Hornets and believing that Slenderman was real. question : have you ever thought of writing your own creepy pasta and seeing if the internet would run away with it?

Anonymous

Wow! As a Minnesotan watching this in my bedroom at night with my smoke detector blinking a single orange light in the dark, I was thoroughly creeped out, and grinning ear to ear at how much fun I was having being creeped out! I 100% was sure I had heard of the peeker before! Like, when you mentioned details about it, I was thinking "oh yeah, I think I remember hearing that before." Seriously, good job 😁

this video found me in my "2 months straight trying to come up with clever idea for metafictional text-quest/dialogue-article, while always thinking of Nabokov's pale fire", and all i just want to say THIS IS SO FUCKING GREAT, i'm fully astonished, video was so clever, sounding so real, giving details about real creepypastas but not mentioning them (also because of my russian native language, knowntome creepypastas were somewhat different), i was completely sold on this stories and only in the middle of missing case i understood, that something is completely wrong with this narrative. Thank you, thank you, thank you, you are both geniuses, hope this video will find it's fully deserved acclamation

For the question, I will maybe ask to tell about some your favourite meta-ish creepypastas/just pastas/novels, maybe intertwined in internet context (like Lain was, for example)

Hello! Just wanted to say I’m genuinely floored by this and I’m really happy that you’re making videos like this, there so expertly done took me right back to when I tried to convince my friends I met herobrine. Really excited to see what comes next anyway I was wondering what your favourite part of this videos was to make, the Thor stitches rap was great and I loved the gabbit rabbits stuff

yolko

Great video! I've yet to watch the behind-the-scenes, so if the content is there, I will be happily redirected -- but do you have a list of the media you used in the video? (existing movies/tv I mean.) And pound for pound, what's each of your favorite creepypasta-vibes movie?

Anonymous

Some of this video really reminded me of "In the Mouth of Madness" by John Carpenter. I know this was supposed to be a send up of horror on the internet but did any movies play a large part in forming the ideas for this video? Besides pulse lol

baudtack

Not gonna lie, I 100% got got by this video and i loved it. I just wanted to say thanks for making a beautiful piece of art.

Hey this ruled, big fan of both this and the companion video. Wondering what your thoughts are on "internet horror" making it's way into feature length films, whether it's by way of incorporating popular tropes and visual motifs i.e. Skinnamarink or creators essentially remaking their earlier YouTube work as film i.e. the upcoming Backrooms movie (and I guess also Skinnamarink).

This video was a testament of the ways I'm liable to turn my brain off lol. Let's say, hypothetically, you are now contractually obligated to make Hazel YouTube merch that must be recognizable as such. How do you approach making things like tshirts and stickers that are recognizably "hazel anime" to knowers but without the baggage of, like, hyper specific gaming YouTuber merch, if you know what I mean?

Hey, I've been a subscriber for a year or two and really enjoy your conent, but have less time to keep with your content lately. I did want to let you know that the offhand commentary your provide on your music has inspired me to pursue Ableton seriously for myself. / Somewhat related to this, can you reccomend a an affordable digital camera to use in Twtich streaming? And do you have any advice for live streaming generally?

Anonymous

Loved the video! I genuinely didn’t see that twist coming. I was never a creepy pasta girl so my knowledge being at 0 I was like ya these make sense. Good job guys! Watching the video though I was like oh that’s why the song on smiling broadly is called John Fenith, it was a creepy pasta thing. But then you said everything was fake. So I’m curious Hazel, where does the song name John Fenith come from? Is it actually a creepy pasta thing even if you guys made up everything else up?

My suspension of disbelief held out quite a while despite knowing of a few of the Pastas parodied along the way. Warming to know that it was the potential blurred line on ethics that caused me to suspect it was a ruse. Super entertained the whole way through, surprisingly comfy vibes in between a few spooks. I suppose I'll take a horror themed opportunity to ask your opinion on AVGN's Polybius episode and if it may have had any inspirational effect besides the ones the video lists in the outro.

Hey Hazel and friends :) this video was really cool, I love all the fun videos you and your friends make. This is unrelated so please forgive me and feel free to skip if it's out of place but will the smiling Broadly EP get a CD release maybe? The whole EP is so good (Puke is my favorite Track) I'd like to have a physical version! Take care and have a good rest of your year!

Potion Yeller

Hey, this is an unrelated question and its a bit hard for me to write it out but I'll try my best. Have you ever had a song that was immediately nostalgic on first listen? A song that immediately created the emotional sensation of your past that you can't really think about your life without that song somehow playing in the background? For me it was AM180 by Grandaddy, I remember I first listened to it during a vinesauce stream but somehow that song immediately hit me and reminded me of the times I was a little kid. Thank you, love you videos, sorry if this was a bit of an awkwardly worded question. PS: can't wait for the album when it comes out

sunfishdreamworld

Hi, Hazel! I just noticed you recently privated your video about Ookumo-chan. I know you get a lot of questions every time you private a video and you uploaded a short segment from one of your q&as explaining why, but I was wondering if privating a popular, but older video effects your channel in a negative way? I'm still kind of learning about YouTube in that way. Hope you and Alyssa and Mae and Wander and everyone else are doing well!

they should make larger fruits

hi hazel and mae! would you be opposed to someone editing together stream highlights and uploading those? totally get it if not, i just wanna send my friends my favorite bits without making them endure an 8 hour vod 😭

Sewing Savage

Hello Hazel! Looking forward to the obscure golf game video you've been teasing :) you've mentioned before that ribbit king wouldnt be featured in the video but I'm so curious what your thoughts are on it! Is it not golf-y enough? Or has my favorite gcn game truely become "mainstream" after all these years? Thanks for the time!

maedotmkv

incredibly late reply (hazel doesn't show me these questions LOL) but i think my general rule is i'm chill with anyone editing down our streams however they want. like as far as monetization if that's something that they can do, the benefits i would receive (more people seeing work i'm proud of) far outweighs the what i would get being closed off to that sort of thing. thanks for asking n even thinkin about it!

The Blue Quartz Dragon

Hi Hazel and Mae! This is a lot later than I expected to be putting this, but have you ever heard of Earth Seeker? I don't know much about the game, but just seeing the art for it, I need to own it. It's got a Made in Abyss sort of design style that I personally die for (weirdly steampunky with very soft details and lots of overgrowth). Just wanted to share my discovery! Also, thoughts on ICO? Hope y'all are doing well even through taking a break!

nolongang

hi hazel, mae, and possibly alyssa! one question for everyone, one question for hazel. 1.has there ever been a piece of creepypasta artwork that once frightened/unnerved you, only for it resurface as the butt of your jokes later in life? (hyper specific answers are more than welcomed) 2. hazel, would you be ok if i requested the satire youtuber tony zaret to briefly allude to the “ranking anime dennys” video? (frame of reference: 3:20-3:44 on his video “I PROPOSED”) no pressure ofc. i wouldn’t want to bring any unwanted attention, especially with your recent circumstances.

rainaScallion

i showed the creepypasta video my friends who write Internet fiction and they ADORE it, so i ask, what are your favorite bits of internet fiction out there?

LizardQueen 27

Don't even know if you're still taking questions, but on the off chance you are: Something about Gabbit Rabbit/Gather Rabbits that I can't put my finger on just sticks in my brain and I want to know if there's anything else you could share about why and how you made it that's not in the original explained video with mae? I know you mentioned Rule of Rose as a huge source of inspiration but do there happen to be any other games/movies/media in general that also inspired this? (I know I say "you" but this applies to you or Mae because I can't quite remember the specifics of who did what on the video that you discussed in the explained video)
