Happy Monday, Addie. I'm so glad that you enjoyed Rocky II (1979). If you didn't expect to cry during this movie, then you're also gonna cry during Rocky III (1982).

Happy Monday, Addie! I hope that you had a great weekend. 😊 YAY! On to the next "Rocky" movie. As much as I love the first movie, I love this one a bit more. So many great moments in this movie. We get to see Rocky and Adrian get married. The emotional yet very well acted scenes by Sylvester Stallone when Adrian is in the hospital. Besides the training montage, my three favorite scenes in this movie are when Adrian tells Rocky to "win", the rematch boxing match between Rocky and Apollo at the end, and Rocky's "Yo Adrian! I did it!". Fun Fact: The baby that plays Rocky Jr. in this movie is Sylvester Stallone's second son Seargeoh Stallone. I'm already looking forward to "Rocky 3". Definitely looking forward to watching this reaction later this evening. With some tissues on hand for the hospital scenes. Have a great day today! 😊

I’m sure that most of us love Rocky but we love it that Addie loves it too!!! It’s such a great show! I remember sitting in the theater when it started thinking: Oh my!!! We were pulled back into the Rocky Universe! Then the ambulance siren starts, and that theme “Redemption” (Bill Conti) starts! And here we go! Rocky 2!!! We waited 3 years for it!!! Yes! Carl Weathers IS Creed as much as Sly Stallone IS Rocky! But like other actors and actresses they are "HIM!" And "HER!" too! Thank you 😀 Addie 😀

Addie, you'll lole number 3 even more than the 2nd one. Keep going until at least 3. It's well worth your time. All the movies are an amazing story tbh, but the favs among the fans are Rocky 1 to 3

"Oooo! Addie with the surprise reaction shot to the jaw! Writhms is down! One... two... three..." 👍

Back when these movies came out, it was not so easy re-watch the first movie as a reminder before going to the theater to see the second one. So I imagine that is why they show so much of the ending before the second movie's true start.

For me Carl Weathers is mostly Apollo Creed, but I also think of two other roles I loved him in from "Action Jackson" and "The Predator".

It is easy to love Mickey, because he is honest and crass, but still very caring. Also, Burgess Meredith was an amazing actor. When he played a role he became the role. I was only ten when my father took me to see this in the theater, and even at ten I acted the same way you did. I was excited and in tears through so much of it.

It was virtually impossible to! lol Video Disks were a few years away! The movies were 3 years a part! For me it drew us back into this incredible world of Rocky! Then Redemption (Bill Conti) came on! That and the original Theme songs are burned into my head lol

@AddieCounts Now you've seen why "The Rocky Stairs," "Adrian," "The Rocky Theme" and soo many other things tied to this series is soo Iconic and soo Beloved. And as you've experienced with the beginning of Rocky II seeing it 'again' definitely makes it more emotional. There are two in this one for me. Where Adrian is in a coma and Rocky goes to see her for the first time and talks to her. Then when he reads her his poem about their first date. As Star Wars showed us the possibilities, Rocky showed us how we should be! For myself - I make recommendations based on hoping 'you' will love the movie(s) as much as I do, and here with Rocky - Mission Accomplished! Here's one I'd like to recommend: "The American President" (1995). That's all you need to know! LOL Thank you @AddieCounts and everyone who helps you, especially Ollie!!!

I'm one of the crotchety sourpusses who says "it really doesn't make sense that Rocky wins", but there's no denying the RUSH from that victory after all the fight and struggle to get there. He gave it his all, everything he had, and unlike Apollo -- who CHOSE to get back in the ring -- Rocky never really had any other choice at all. He went the distance in every way that matters. I think the first two Rocky films together make a great cohesive whole. I'm...less complimentary towards the following sequels. But even those aren't all-bad.

I think the reason they showed so much of the first movie at the start was because at that time a direct sequel was pretty novel. Also there was no real home video market back then so most people probably hadn't seen the first movie since it was in the theatre, hence the long recap.

I can’t believe that actually remembered a ton more than I could imagine. It was buried somewhere in my head and I guess it had more of an impact to me than I realized. You mentioned how people, like me, recognize Carl Weathers as Apollo immediately and we have you who recognize him from The Mandalorian before these movies. Imagine all of our excitement to see him in both.
