WAXWORK (1988) is movie made for you guys, you can view on Amazon streaming.

Stephen Crane

I suggest Curtains from 1983. Unless it's already been done.

Yep, I'm a fan, it had two of my favorites, Jamie Lee and Ben Johnson. So yes, I paid to see it back when I was a mere stripling youth. You go into it knowing what will happen and who survives. For me the curiosity was centered on Ben. He was a faded name so could be a surprise survivor/slasher depending upon how tricky Spottiswood was being. A 50/50 call. It's still worth a rewatch.

I'd have thought this would have been a regular DC review. Although maybe it's because I'm not a big fan of slashers. As for overlooked slashers, I'll go with a double of 'Curse of Chucky' and 'Cult of Chucky'. These were the back to basic reboot of a franchise and they work. 'Curse…' is an old dark house movie but it also uses that to it's advantage and expands on Chucky's background a little more, while 'Cult…' is a giallo set in a mental hospital and uses the form perfectly. It also calls right back to the first film, and both of these films make the reboot of that look like market stall knock off it really was.

Good review of a movie I was unaware of. But I am still waiting for a video about Horror Express! There are a couple of good versions on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LCtzLEebBI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcHi3DUmYeQ

ROAD GAMES, which also stars JLC, along with Stacy Keach, is one of the best, not really a slasher per se, but follows a serial killer through the Australia.

I would like to recommend Devil’s Island (2021), if only because I have little idea what to make of it, thus making it a smart movie, right? Right. I liked it, but its a very complex and vexed kind of affection (looking at IMDB, it appears I’m not alone in my confusion but nearly so in my affection) I found it on Amazin (to use Robin’s pronunciation)

Good film with a few weak spots. But Stacy Keach is at his best. And e.g. the scene with the motorbike adds a great boost of realism.

Jasmine Zantara

I LOVE Terror Train. I feel it is so much better than Halloween. My favorite three horror movies are overlooked slashers: Dr. Giggles (1992), Popcorn (1991), and Lighthouse - a.k.a. Dead of Night (1999) .
