Nothing like a cute girl possessed by a witch to liven up a college campus. I wonder if summoning a witch to help with your schoolwork would be considered cheating. It's not like the witch is the internet that every student has access to. Any chance you guys might be reviewing Shock Waves (1977) in the future?

I feel like there was a time when certain things only worked on certain creatures (the cross only on vampires, silver bullets only on werewolves) but thats probably just me. Shoutout to Hammer for the thorn bush being used to kill (or at least incapacitate) Dracula, I’ve never seen that one before or since even though it makes perfect sense as explained.

I knew that cover artwork from 'Blood of Dracula' rang a bell.

The Witch earned my enmity when she killed the dog and the budgie. The humans probably deserve it for being boring, but the animals weren't given a choice about owners!

The dog is dead? Nooooooooooooooo!

I did look at Shock Waves some years ago but felt it wasn't quite right for us. Might give it another look at some point as it is one that people ask about a lot. rb

Looks kind of fun. Obviously ‘Underworld’ lifted a lot from ‘Razor Blade Smile’ but ‘Stuff Stephanie in the Incinerator’ reminds me of ‘RBS’ also. Rewatching ‘Razor Blade Smile’ it’s a very specific time in the 90s. A year earlier or later and it would be very different. Also she gets the Jubilee Line from Charing Cross when it was still an active station, predicting it's current use as a semi permanent film set.

The "taking it seriously" really sold what I saw of the film in the review. Tongue in cheek is the kiss of death in projects like this--even the sexual predator asshole seemed to think of himself as a real person and not a collection of cliches and tropes filtered through the minds of older men of an earlier generation trying to write a "hip" script.
