This one reminded me of The Cardigans video for 'My Favourite Game' which makes me wonder if the film inspired the video.

The film is under the "Charles Band Productions" banner which has films until around the time he creates Empire International in 1983. There are many films that could easily have used clips like "Laserblast" so it's hard to say why these bits aren't used elsewhere.
