This isn’t a very fun answer considering how much I love the in-universe mystique of slashers like Jason Voorhees, but if you slaughter a dozen sexy teens one night at a summer camp you’re going to draw the attention of every law enforcement agency in the nation, possibly the planet.

How does Longfellow get photos of his victims? Does he preselect them? Does he only target women for whom he has head shots? Does he photograph them after they're dead? This is the stuff for which Supermarket Tabloids were created. Even if the various local police forces hadn't linked the deaths, at least one of the "Two Headed Baby Gains College Degree From Harvard at 3" weeklies would eat it up Enquiring Minds Want to Know!

Also, it's not so much a murder room as "room where I think about my hundreds and hundreds of murders and also keep tons of incriminating evidence." I know this was shot back in the day before CCTV was everywhere (also cell phones) but this guy/demon is astonishingly public about his murders! Just out in the woods, people's yards, at their doors--he does everything but hit the local ear piercing kiosk in the mall!

Another great Dohler review. Dollface, The Stitch Bitch Killer in 'Funhouse Massacre' seems to do everything she can to be caught. Although somehow isn't ever. The cops know who she is and most of the time she walks round in clown makeup but still seems to have been able to keep on killing for years.
