Streaming Review: The Lady Vanishes

This one has been m favourite Hitchcock film since I was a child. I'll admit it's mostly for Charters and Caldicott, those bastions of Empire.

Robin, you need a top hat and a cape, you will look exactly like John Carradine in "Billy the Kid vs. Dracula"!

Stephen Crane

I just watched The Wicked Lady with Margaret Lockwood. She could not have been more different in that film to this one. The mark of a great actress.

It is a great film, the way that it twists and turns is so good. I really like the bits with Charters and Caldicott having to deal with the maid whose room they have coopted.

Thanks for reviewing this. It's been over a decade since I watched it and your review inspired me to look at it again. It's a fun movie and I agree that Hitchcock's focus on the characters is what makes it work.

I watched this again after seeing the review. Some great character work and the usual Hitchcock comedy moments. Laurel and Hardy should really have been in it as Charters and Caldicott:)
