Stephen Crane

The person who suggested this is a person of disturbingly sick taste in movies.

Mein Herr, this is a german film. And I, hailing from this nation myself, take pride in the fact, that 'german' is a worldwide renowned synonym for 'disturbingly sick taste'.

It's an additional shame they slaughtered the character of Dracula while being played by Ferdy Mayne, who I loved as Count Krolok in 'The Fearless Vampire Killers'. At least he could redeem himself halfways as Dracula in the tv series 'Frankenstein's Aunt' which I cherisch as a warm childhood memory.

And IMDB proves to be my friend one more time... And it had Viveca Lindfors! Classy.

Unlikely Dracula? Well, Leslie Nielsen has to be in among the front runners. Jamie Gillis did a porn version (don't ask) that was total rubbish, even in the soft-core cut. I sort of remember Charlie Callas doing a rubber face comedy version. Then again he got to play with Julie Newmar so, one in his favour. Anything more and I've got to break out IMDB, so I'll go with Charlie Callas as my final answer.

Unlikely Dracula? If we're talking about Name actors, it has to be David Niven (Old Dracula). If we're talking about WTF is that?! portrayals, it must be Zandor Vorkov (Dracula vs Frankenstein), although, to be fair, the make up and voice effects didn't help.

Can't wait to see Graham's "booby masking" effects for this one.

Perhaps the area was zoned for non-commercial institutions like the monastery and girls' school and the castle was somehow grandfathered in? I'm not knowledgeable about Transylvanian zoning myself.

It was quite common across Europe for large monasteries and convents to become schools after the reformation, and then some of the buildings to become monasteries again in the counter reformation leading to this sort of thing, you see it even today with Gordonstone where Prince Charles went to school. Originally a large wealthy monastery dissolved by James 1st converted into a school and then a small order of monks let back in by Victoria.

Regarding unlikely Draculas I'd name Dominic Purcell in *shudder* 'Blade Trinity'

Unexpected Dracula Gerard Butler in 'Dracula 2000' although not an unexpected actor the unexpected thing is that Dracula is revealed to be Judas Iscariot. Which sounds bonkers, but then you think it about it and it makes perfect sense. Can't touch silver, doesn't like crosses, suicides being condemned to eternal limbo and he didn't eat but didn't did drink at the last supper.

It's hard to judge comedies in translation because I'm never sure if the bored, underpaid voice dubbers "got" what they were supposed to be stressing for the laughs. Also, men sure think women like to run around with their tops off for no reason, even though I haven't met a single woman who does this.

I was also greatly disappointed to learn that "sleepover pillow fights" are apparently not a thing amongst the ladies.

I can assure you, this film is not a iota funnier in its original language than in the dubbing. It is a supreme example for the inept and dull humour that is affiliated with german comedy. Sometimes unexpectedly unjustified, more often with absolute good cause. Especialy when it comes to those clumsy sex flicks from the seventies.

It’s not like the ‘Confessions…’ or ‘Adventures…’ films were actually funny. Although the latter series had amazingly good posters
