North Carolina... I think the 'The Descent' and its follow up were filmed there, but don't want to check google to how bad my memory is failing me... or be reminded of how much I disliked them. Rubbish posters as I vaguely recall. Oregon though, that had 'The Goonies'! Which I'm pretty sure was supposed to be a kids horror flick like "Monster Squad". Both of which I viewed with my younger daughter about 12 years back. (You've got to start them young, move on to the good stuff latter.) Then again I think Arnies "Kindergarten Cop' was also shot in Oregon. In which case this is truly going from the sublime to the ridiculous.

another (not very good) North Carolina movie, The Dark Power featuring a now very aged B Western star Lash LaRue and a future Real Housewife of Atlanta https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0228183/ The poster is WHOLLY inaccurate to the final movie and makes me think it's from something else

The creepiest thing about 'I Know what you did last Summer' is Joss Whedon having final say on Sarah Michelle Geller's wardrobe and makeup. The reason when her hair is cut off it looks no different was because Joss vetoed the bald cap as it made her look too ugly, and people might not watch 'Buffy' if they thought she would look ugly!

Woot Woot, Oregon on the map! There's a film called Cthulhu from 2007, available on YouTube: https://youtu.be/soDSk0e9-ok that's got both my current hometown, Seattle, and the Oregon coast. It's best known for starring Tori Spelling, but I actually have met the guy playing the male lead as well, from back in the day when he and his wife were running an acting workshop.
