I know the reasons behind Herman Mankiewicz going full blast on Hearst. Hearst's treatment of his niece Pepi Lederer. He drove her to suicide and Mankiewicz hated him for it. The fact that Mankiewicz hijacked Kane in a drunken attempt at vengeance and ruined Orson Welles in the process is a blight on him.
