Summary: As children, twin sisters, Juliet and Vivian loved playing the piano. By the time it comes to graduate high school, and as the final performance of the year beckons, Vivian's achievements have overshadowed any hopes and aspirations Juliet may have had.  For Juliet, living as an understudy to her sister has meant seeing her dedication go unrecognized, while Vivian flirts with the adulation of her tutors, cohorts and sexual conquests.  With her self confidence plummeting, Juliet happens upon the diary of a recently deceased classmate. This discovery sets off a chain of events which seemingly begin to swing the pendulum her way.

Sounds like Black Swan meets Whiplash, but the actors can't even play the instruments.

Stephen Crane

Like Amadeus but too few notes.

I consider it worthless if it's a film about music and features no decent musical performances.

In agreement. Filled with teenage hormones and very little suitable music. If a full orchestra was too expensive, they could have used canned tunes, picked a "Top 100 Classical tunes" CD and sampled the heck out of the samples...

One thing this kind of story seems to blow a lot is the obvious point: if both sisters are talented enough to get into this Super Insanely Prestigious School, why is one suddenly so much better and worth nurturing while the other isn't??? I get that the jealousy can revolve around personality and ability to self promote, etc., but talent has to come into this somewhere or why is Juliet even here in the first damn place? It's even more annoying when both of them are playing the piano: at least in Hilary and Jackie they played different instruments.
