Thanks for the update Robin. I'm still enjoying everything you've done to date. Looking forward to hearing your views upon Lugosi's early acting career and how he came to America.

I enjoyed The Man Who Laughs special a lot. I knew the title & had seen a still of Veidt, but didn't know the story or anything about the film, so thanks for all the great information. Looking forward to the Lugosi / Dracula special. I think that your idea to make it about Lugosi with the films added in is a good one, and also to make it two parts. Don't fret yourself about taking longer to get specials out, they're well worth waiting for! And besides, we have the regular reviews and delicious Detractor's Commentaries to brighten up our dull dreary little lives.

Really enjoyed the 'Man Who Laughs' video. A lot of people who aren't really as into horror, but know the Joker link, seem to think that the film is lost. So are surprised by the video when I suggest it. Looking forward to Lugosi 'Dracula'. I know it's not Universal but will be touching on 'Mother Riley meets the Vampire'? Which apparently is the only time he says the line "I vant to suck your blood"

Wow, I get your new book as an early birthday present and the Legosi special as an actual one! Don't explode or anything under your workload.

I could see some long term strategy in basically just being the only game in town when it comes to more obscure and niche movies.

Useless trivia, I had Arthur Lennig as a professor in college and he was...well, opinionated isn't the word, monolithic and implacable might be better terms. And, yes, his opinion of Lugosi was unassailable. I disagreed with him almost as much as he completely dismissed me, but he was the one that showed us "Sunrise," "Faust," and a full semester of D.W. Griffith and Eric Von Stroheim. Additional useless trivia, that list of employees on the computer display in "Creepozoids," on there is John Schouweiler. He was the line producer on the movie and a friend of mine. If you ever watch his "Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama" you didn't hear about it from me.

As it stands we'll be mentioning it pretty briefly, but that clip might be the one to use. rb

Yeah, Lennig's biography is interesting. It seems very well-researched so I am happy to go to it for facts, but this is a man who doesn't like Bride of Frankenstein. WTF? rb

A one word description of Lennig would be "contrarian."
