Very good chance. I just gave robin a copy last week.

"Uncover the secret that lies under the celery!" You know, they don't write lines like that any more. And I'm still wondering why Corman didn't do this one when Vincent Price was on the staff? Mwthinks that his version would have been twice as interesting on half the budget. As for better or best Poe Adaptations? I would say the 1932 'Murders in the Rue Morgue', I found it on one of this "50 Horror (or SiFi) Classics" box sets, a decade back. On the other end of the spectrum, as a fan of Dwight Frye (we all have our guilty pleasures) I have a copy of "The Crime of Dr.Crespi". This has the same story outline as 'The Premature Burial' but goes off on some really weird tangent. But then, it has Eric Strohiem as a star, a leading light of the Ham Actors guild, so that's acceptable.

I will say that Corman always got his actors/directors to just totally commit to the project. "I need you to film this in the Mexican jungle and everybody's crazy. Oh, and naked." "Great!" As for another Poe adaptation, I'm going with the Fox series The Following, which started out with the idea of a madman who bases his murders on Poe stories and has an ever-expanding group of followers that want nothing more than to throw away their lives so he can set up elaborate kill tableaux. It's patently ridiculous and any cursory glance towards logic is purely accidental.
