So the panther was added to the film because someone had a big cat rental coupon?

Stephen Crane

This movie is seriously what Chocky would have been had John Wyndham written it after he'd been dead for ten years. And there is no way they didn't put the black panther in it because of the popularity of Cat People, which came out 7 months earlier in April of 1982.

Excellent review. I'm aware of this movie, but I've never seen it. considering the "unusual" aspects of the film that were shown here, I;m prompted to check it out (it can be found on YouTube). I also want to see the RedLetterMedia review as well (also on YouTube). I'll download the film onto a flash drive and watch it on the TV with my wife during our regular movie-watching times. Due to the "strangeness" of the film, I'm curious as to what she'll have to say about it.

Future Henry: The gang over at RedLetterMedia expressed some disappointment over Xtro, since they determined that it's actually a decent film with some genuinely creepy moments. Therefore, it wasn't some "bad" film that they could make fun of. So, that does it, I'll be watching Xtro sometime soon... ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcBkm1nOI5k&pbjreload=101 )

Should the summary read "3 years later"? I was expecting time travel after reading it.

Starship Invaders did have an alien abduction in it but I guess it wasn’t all about the consequences like arguable best-of-genre Fire In The Sky.

Thanks Robin and Graham! Great review of a film so disgusting, I could not get through it in high school, even with the promise of bare breasts! Xtro II: The Second Encounter has Jan Michael Vincent (!) and is a decent, action-packed ALIEN rip-off. I did not know there was a third film in the franchise.

Future Future Henry - You need to watch this movie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3iTk0xCyao

This film is just chock full of things that I wouldn't pay money to see & bursting with things that I would actually pay money NOT to see. Thank you, DC, for doing the hard work so that I don't have to. Now I have a weird desire to go read a modern Mummy novel...

I saw Xtro for the first time last year and loved it! Make no mistake; it's not a good film. With that said, it's so jam-packed with strangeness and the pacing is so quick that it's a really fun watch. I've avoided the sequels, since they are apparently sequels in name only.

Jasmine Zantara

I saw this in 1997 and never forgot it...for all the wrong reasons. It was such trash. The sequels have nothing to do with it and I find them to be far more enjoyable.
