Even the hunter's name is straight from The Most Dangerous Game - Zed for Zaroff! I watched this over the weekend and it's not nearly as bad as some that I've seen. Zed appears to have a supply of Slave Girl Bikinis, as Shala is wearing one when the 3 ladies are sent out into the jungle. As for the bouncy girl in the opening scene, she appears to be bait for the Big Ugly. But now that we know what Zed does for an after-hunt celebration, she probably wished that she'd been lasered instead.

I went digging through the net looking for how many times the story has been made or remade in TV, films etc, and the answer fades out as "A lot". It appears to be the only basic story line that Shakespeare didn't first write.
