I'm Working On: Killer Workout (Patreon)

I heard about this film on Twitter and only checked it out because of the alternative title Aerobicide. It's a slasher film set in a gym, interspersed with frequent scenes of gratuitous aerobics in gaudy neon lycra. There's usually good Dark Corners mileage in films based around a title or a very simple idea, and this is no exception, such a slave to its concept that no one considers closing the gym even for an afternoon after 7 people are killed in one day. A lot of what's wrong with the film is hard to address in the DC review format, especially it's scattershot approach to characters. People come and go from the story as needed rather than being developed and principals die without it seeming to matter at all. For a film of this type, made at this time, it's surprisingly light on sex, and I would guess that someone realised this and added the film's single sex scene, which takes place in a dream.
