I have more or less finished the first part of this special (tentatively due out in June). It's been a big, involved one and has presented a completely different set of problems to the Murnau special. With Murnau, you have an almost complete lack of information - very few books, interviews etc. With Christopher Lee and Hammer you have a huge amount of information. Try typing 'Christopher Lee interview' into YouTube and see how much comes up. On the bright side he does mostly tell the same stories but I don't know that without watching them all. The books are worse - in so many areas they fail to tally on the exact history, to the point where I think they all must have just guessed. For, I think, the first time, I've been careful to cite my sources so I at least don't join in with the making up. For example, my Hammer biography mentions an unmade Dracula sequel called Dracula the Damned - I can find no mention of it anywhere else. Not even a hint. But they talk with such authority I think it must have existed. Is it the same film as Revenge of Dracula? No idea. But with so much information out there, I wonder if the truth will appear in the comments, which would be embarrassing.
