I went with the German poster because the original one was boring.
This film rather surprised me. I was expecting it to be similar to First Spaceship on Venus, and in some ways it is but it has a much more dramatic plot. And it actually doesn't exploit that plot too badly - a lot of the interactions are clumsy, but people arguing for their right to live are liable to be pretty to the point. Two problems; it's one of those films that ran out of money and was finished five years later, which has major consequences for the ending (and I also wonder if the opening sequence was tacked on at the same time). Secondly, it is wildly sexist and in a really creepy way, that I think we'll talk about more in Detractor's commentary than in the review. Bad for the film; good for the review.

Remember, the best way to distract a Chinese soldier and his aggressive German Shepard is by heaving a cat over the wall. That works every time.
