Detractor's Commentary: Robo Vampire

Comments

Chris Hewson

Robo Vampire came from Filmark, which was like a low-rent IFD, itself a z-grade outlet. Both of these companies specialised in these cut-and-paste productions, where they'd take a bunch of white actors and stick 'em in ninja or commando outfits, film 20 minutes of action, then splice it in with an unfinished or unreleased movie they had the rights to. As you can imagine, these ranged from bad to laughable, and often with the worst one-liners this side of Hong Kong.

For the record, Mr Vampire is a good film but Encounters of the Spooky Kind was the Sammo Hung film I was thinking of. rb
