About one in ten of the movies I watch for DC don't make the cut - a ratio that reflects my reluctance to admit that I wasted my time, I should probably be more stringent. Generally if a movie isn't working then I quit early, but sometimes it's a fine line thing and I've got to watch to the end just in case it goes someplace interesting. This can pay off - The Black Sleep is pretty limp until the last 15 minutes when it goes nuts - but in the case of The Crater Lake Monster, it didn't. Very close thing; some good lines and some terrible day for night shooting that sees two characters staring at a bright blue sky admiring the stars; and a man who gets killed in the water apparently crawled back into his boat to bleed for a bit before returning to the water. But the monster generally looks too good to mock - aside from a few shots -  and we've done a few reviews recently where we admire the stop motion in a bad movie. Plus, the big problem is the lack of lead characters, something that, again, we've done before and which isn't particularly funny. So a few years ago we might have done this, and if someone really, REALLY, wanted us to, then I guess we could go back to it. But as it stands, I wasted an hour and a half. Damn.

That store robbery subplot that took up about 2 of those 1-1/2 hours probably didn’t help. And I’ve always wondered if it was just my bulk pack edition of the movie that wasn’t color corrected.

You guys might use something from it in one your specials; I keep suggesting one or two specials about the paranormal; this is one the best movies about Lake Monsters.
