Ryan would definitely have been seen as an accessory in re-locating his dad's body though he might have gotten a diminished sentence because of the mother's abuse of the family. What i don't really get is how Ryan allowed the mother to still have such a hold over his life even when she was incapacitated mentally and didn't just have her committed rather than just leaving open access for her to hopefully walk off. He could have then just started a new life somewhere else then. It's a really good episode but the motivations for his decisions are very confused. But I guess after what happened in his childhood they would be. I do think its a good character moment with Detective Sherman when he cops to why he screwed up the evidence in the original case rather than making him seemingly antagonistic for no good reason. It takes a lot of guts to admit being an alcoholic and Lilly respected him coming clean.
