I don't think Salmoneus scams people, exactly. He's a salesman, and I think a pretty good one. ... Karen Witter played Nemesis in season one, but in this episode Teresa Hill took over the role. Nemesis was Herc's first crush, and, I think, first girlfriend, and they retain their mutual affection. ... Perses getting a pickaxe in the skull really is a pretty brutal death. When you asked why Nemesis told the men to get back to work, I was thinking, 'Oh, she has a reason.' The odd thing is she kept letting that slaver live, even though he seemed a much worse person; however, she wasn't ordered by the gods to kill that guy. ... Now we learn that it was Pyro who "did the hit" on Hercules' family at Hera's behest. I think the Pyro effects and his fight with Herc are pretty cool. ... The gag disclaimer for this episode: "No Completely-Engulfed-In-Flames-Evil-Dudes were harmed during the production of this motion picture."
