Sarah Michelle Gellar was hosting Saturday Night Live the week they filmed this episode which is why they wrote Buffy turning into a rat into the script so that she could miss four days of filming.

An often missed line in all this: "Angel nails a puppy to..." "Skip it. I don't have a puppy, skip it." Never fails to make me laugh and cry. When Xander realizes Buffy doesn't actually have feelings, I felt for him. Him and Willow are basically underdogs. She's constantly trying to prove herself intellectually and he's constantly trying to be funny/strong while deep down feeling bitter and having no clue how to process it. You'll get a lot of love from fans for not liking him and I even get why but, something about him makes me want to say "just love yourself" too, even if his bitterness definitely ticks me off sometimes. Besides without his youthful, petty stupidity we would not have this awesome episode. Although I am afraid of two things, 1 when Joyce came onto him and 2 just the idea of Giles doing it. No parental figures allowed in whacky love spells🤢. Jenny somehow worked and I might have been on board for Angelous but we would have lost "maybe I really did drive you crazy." 😆 Either way, great reaction "All spells backfire!" 😅🤣 And your reaction to Oz's punch was adorable. When you said "rats fight back really hard." I thought, maybe she still has Slayer strength. She could be Buffy Rat the cat Slayer. I mean I'd be sad for the cats and we'd all get the plague which makes covid look like the sniffles, but still, maybe as a cartoon, like Mighty Mouse?   I love the costume department not realizing that giving Oz layers of clothes makes him look kind of dumb not offering a spare shirt. No one making this, stopped and saw the issue? My condolences on the ship continuing.
