They are connected. When you watched Jessica Jones remember Clair was the nurse that helped Luke Cage. She told Jessica she had a friend who could help, meaning Matt. Also after season 2 of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist all meet up and fight together. Season 2 of Daredevil has Punisher and Daredevil meet and has Castle and Matt meet. It's also where Karen meets Frank. Clair also shows up in Luke Cage and Iron Fist as well as Defenders.
