MS2b BtS: Bar "The Cellar Door" (Patreon)

It's that time in production! A big bulk of the background art for MS2b has been ordered to a new BG artist, and we should be getting assets over the next few months. Here's a quick sneak peek of one of the main assets and location in the game, a bar-like facility inside the Vita Domain called "Cellar Door." Looking back, this will be the first time in about 5 years (ish?) where we've ordered such a large amount of BG assets in bulk... or actually any amount since we haven't had the need since StP (Mhakna Gramura BG assets were done in-house, so we never had to reach out for help).

This point is traditionally known in the indie VN scene as "the point of no god damn return" since here is precisely where we actually start using enormous chunks of the budget 😂. Not that we have a reason to turn back, but it's just super exciting that we're at this point again. I'm sure many of you can imagine but just getting finalized background assets installed gives the title a sense of completion and polish.
