An odd week.  Between jetlag and now this bloody cold, writing's been challenging.  Especially these last few days, in which struggling to my 500+ word minimum's been tough going, and what I've gotten down on the page has felt soulless and weak.  But then there was Tuesday, where I blew through 2000 words across two sittings and it all felt like good stuff.  My lesson there: jetlag sucks but I can write through it, but I'm a total wimp when it comes to a cold.

Also cleaned up the timeline for Constant a little, which was good.  It puts the encounter with Steele at the end of December, which I hadn't really considered before - and has me rethinking how that initial event went down, as overlapping it with a Christmas office party has a reasonable vibe to it.

In any case, I've finished off the interstitial bit between "stories" for Chapter 6, leaving the first part of Julia's story behind to focus on Cindy's return to the office.  This is going to be a shorter one, I think, covering settling into the job of secretary, dealing with the girls at work, and a little bit of clubbing.

I'll have a sneak peak of that for you early next week, providing I can inject a little "soul" into what feels like the lifeless prose of the past few days of writing.

Have a great weekend!
