Fan AI Art: (Patreon)
Content
Constant seems to have caught some readers' imaginations, especially Cindy. Back in December of last year, members of this patreon might remember some experimentation with AI art. Patron 'Bobbi' kindly sent in some images they'd generated of some key scenes from the story, and I had a go at it, too. Though fun, I gave up on the AI art--they always seemed to come out with a couple too many fingers, or not quite as I wanted them.
Meanwhile, some other readers sent me their (far superior!) efforts.
Today's image is by Kristylicious (@cdelishious) on instagram, who has very kindly gifted me a whole slew of interpretations of Cindy. You can check out their instagram for many of these; I'll be sharing a curated selection over time, if patrons like them.
Another reader, Supermad, also created some very impressive images, actually training a model for consistency (and for other effects, which I'll discuss next week). They're a writer, too, and you can check out their fiction over on BCTS under the pseudonym "Flying Monkey".
I'm curious, though. AI Art is very divisive. What are patrons take on it: love it or hate it? Democratised art for the masses, or digital theft of arists' labour? I'll put up a poll on Friday, to gauge opinions: do members care whether I post digitally-generated interpretations of characters?
Also: what are people's thought on NSFW visual content? The story itself is obviously NSFW (and hence the adult tag on patreon) but words on a screen are different than willies and boob visuals, and not everyone's threshold for that kind of thing is the same. Any thoughts? Some of the gifted art--specifically based on David's first sight of Cindy in the mirror at the start of Book 2--has frontal nudity; would that be appropriate to share? I don't know--and so, your thoughts on this are appreciated!
