Word count this week doesn't reflect today's writing, as I've spent my time giving Chapter 3 a final look-over; nor the changes caused by splitting the chapter into two.

A bit of a suprise post today: I decided this week to split Chapter 3 into two. In terms of how the chapter is structured, I was reluctant to do this but as it approached 60k words in length it became obvious that this was necessary. 60k words is ridiculous for a single chapter, and a big demand on readers.

I'll leave it here exclusive to the Constant tier and higher for a week, and then make it available to all subscribers. Meanwhile, I'm going to start the slow process of posting to TGStorytime - the first scene should show up there sometime tomorrow, and I'll update it weekly over the next month.

In any case, I hope you enjoy it! Chapter 3 was fun to write, if occasionally tricky. I enjoyed the introduction of Caleb, and Terry the bartender was fun.

Otherwise, writing this week was... challenging. Whether the heat wave earlier this week, or tiredness, or workload at work, Monday through Wednesday weren't great days for writing. I hit my 500 word minimum but it wasn't easy, and didn't get much further than that. Fortunatelly I rallied on Thursday, with a solid 2000+ day. It felt good to break through that barrier.

A nice outcome of breaking the chapter in two is that it means chapter 4 is almost finished, too! It's not quite as polished, but is definitely approaching its conclusion. Hopefully one more week, maybe two and it'll be complete, too.
