90's Kids (Patreon)

Here's a fun little concept i tinkered with the other day!

When developing the extended friend groups, i always imagined the girls being
Magna's friends from back in their schooldays.
and as i watched The Simpsons, Season 13 Episode 5, "The Blunder Years", i got the urge to design the younger versions of our dorky group! Just for fun!

I imagine we'll be seeing some more of young Magna once Leo comes to meet her parents (through old photo albums and what not) but maybe later down the line i'd find a fun way to show off more childhood memories. maybe through some "flashbacks" or something!

i find it's always a fun way to learn more about characters!

OH. also, Leo being just a reference sheet is just a bit of a gag! non of this is exactly canon just yet, just some food for thought!

but while designing all these youngins, i realized that Leo would actually never got to be young like the rest of the gang. if anything, he was re-drawn sometime in the late 90's

that way, everyone is relatively the same age. Leo being drawn as a 20-something year old, but having a ton of memories from his older iterations, hence his big boomer brain!

i even thought about a Monotone, 20's-40's Leo , and a Hannah Barbera-esk, 50's - 70's Leo wandering around in the world, but again, that dips into the "are there more toons or just Leo" can-of-worms, and i don't wanna have to deal with that right now, haha. this is all just a fun visual!
