Love you

Génesis Arias

I think its more about morals then power for Katara, although it’s very handy

Amir

Toph knew she won cause she can feel that the pebble is still on the table

Evelio Solache

Don’t forget it’s only during a full moon so she’s definitely powerful but only under the right circumstances toph still better

white wolf

Yes!!! Blood bending. Imagine watching this episode at 11 years old I was scared 😅. In the end Hama won, Katara is a blood bender now and agreed she is now one of the strongest but it can only be done on a full moon. Also forgot to mention but Episodes 10 and 11 go hand in hand they’re a part 1 and part 2 so idk how y’all would react to it, but I can’t wait to see your reaction to them they are amazing episodes awesome reaction as always!!!! Can’t wait to see more

Saith Uchiha

Michelle just invented piss-bending lmao

Anthony Cano

It feels like Blood bending is presented kind of like the dark side of the force.

andIJDC

I think the worst part of Katara being a bloodbender is more the fact that the choice was basically stolen from her. To be forced to do something that is against your morals can be very soul crushing, especially as a child when you're still developing your world view on what is right and wrong. It might have been different if she had been given time to think about it, take into consideration the war, and talk to people about it rather than: do it now or else your friends die. Also my theory on how Katara learned it so quickly is (not only cause she's that freaking talented) maybe because she felt how her own blood was control, she was able to apply the theory more easily vs Hama who basically had to create the technique with no theory at all

Not Amused

I feel like techniques like blood/metal bending would mainly be about learning to focus on trace amounts of stuff. At the end of the day that’s basically still just controlling water so I could see it clicking in a life or death situation, especially for a prodigy.

Ive seen you with the bpn hat ron. I know youre a hybrid athlete

Now you know the most powerful form of bending in this world PEEBENDING

Stephen

do you two know if you'll be uploading 3 eps next week? since ep 10-11 was originally a 1hr special 🥺

defnotdai

Has Michelle seen the legend of Korra? I'm hoping you guys will watch that as well after this.

adan blas

Katara can only bloodbend during a full moon. Also, it shows how powerful Hama was considering it took like 50 firebenders to capture her, so blood bending is probably only available to the most powerful waterbenders.

adan blas

Also, I don't know if you caught it, but the ship Hama lifted up was the same ship Aang and Katara set off the trap in at the very beginning. And yeah, that was probably gran gran that saw her get taken away.

adan blas

I liked parts of the Legend of Korra, but the character and story development are less cohesive. Still good enough to watch though if you're a fan of ATLA

Jay rellim

damn ron i know it's just a show but i hope you take into account ppl's will/choice to do something being taken away, even if you think it's "good for them"... especially if they're kids lmao (not judging fr)

asha

lol ik it’s an insane power to blood bend but it’s all just like very morally wrong lol i guess for katara it’s something too twisted and she doesn’t want to be someone to just take a persons will away from them. and she was crying at the end bc she had the choice taken from her and goes against what she believes in. i imagine the feeling of being bloobended to be tortuous tbh. me personally tho i would use it lol but it’s a “kids” show so it’s meant to be seen as a very dark side of power. it was a life or death situation so in the moment she had to do something and she felt the ability come to her in that moment. she also has shown that she’s an incredibly strong water bender and she said she also draws her power from the moon so she just knew what she had to do.

Ahkenaton Furdge

Remember katara is a healer, none of that is in her nature

C

Haha Ron you are such a legend man. The comedic stuff and jokes you're pulling off in the intro and outro make my day XD It must be such a delight to have a friend or partner like you in life. You guys have become my fav reaction couple for sure!

bluemilk

THIS. of course LOK wasn't as peak as ATLA but it digs deeper into what exactly is "the Avatar". Where it comes from, how far back the Avatar goes, and we get more trips into the actual spirit world. I think they'd love it.

bluemilk

GUYS I GENUINELY THINK YOU GUYS NEED TO WATCH THE LEGEND OF KORRA AFTER THIS. It digs deeper into the "Avatar's" origin and we get more information on the actual spirit world. We also see the Gaang as adults for the first time! :)

Abdul-Rahman Lawal

She can only do blood bending during a full moon

Michael

Katara was beating Azula in book 2. She's not weak at all

Nero Luv

Katara’s a natural like Pakku said in part 1. Once she’d learned the theory behind it, it was easy for her. She was weak in the beginning because no one could even tell her the basics until she stole the scroll.

Alex

The deep dig was my last favorite part of that series. There's something to be said for leaving certain things shrouded in mystery.

Ivan Perez

Not Michelle referencing the Hag 😂 btw how is y’all’s Baldurs Gate play through going? I’m playing Druid too and love the wild shapes

Apathina

I think she was more saying that the guy hosting the game should have noticed that even though shes blind she somehow knew she won before anyone said it?

Apathina

I understand the sentiment but this is legit war. Her mother was murdered. If ANYTHING imo bloodbending is the PEACEFUL way to win against someone because you leave them alive and uninjured.

Apathina

Yea ngl I dislike Kataras hatred for bloodbending also. Im not here to argue I get why she feels like it but at the end of the day this is war and if anything bloodbending seems like a pretty peaceful way to win a fight... You arent burning them, crushing them with rocks, cutting them with air or water, etc. With bloodbending you avoid injuring your opponent and also preventing them from injuring others. IMO its ironically the most peaceful takedown method.

Apathina

Yea see I get it and I dont. IMO it can also be considered the most moral way to win a fight especially in a war because you leave the person alive and uninjured after winning. Fighting any other way leaves both parties wounded or worse.

defnotdai

Knowing them and the things they gravitate towards in shows, I can already tell they would be invested in it.

Reapers Odium

Restricting an individual's autonomy is fundamentally contradictory to anything peaceful

Sambat Phu

Don't forget that full moon has a play into blood bending, she can only blood bend during full moon, at full moon is when a water bender at their strongest, that's also how she was able to learn faster as well.

Michael H

A little random this late in the series, but this show might have the best English voice actors I’ve heard in any cartoon or anime. Like every one of them are so consistently on point. (Katara’s ghost story voice and Sokka’s ghost story scream made me think of this lol)

Daniel

I agree the other ones I can think of that are up there are like steins gate and code geass dubs

Michael H

@Daniel You know, I’ve been hearing a lot of good things recently about the dub of Code Geass. It’s one of my favorites, but I’ve never seen the dub. Next time I watch, I’m going to check it out.

Rook964

The live action is ass ngl

bluemilk

i personally thought it was amazing to fully understand the Avatar and the point of its existence. agree to disagree we all have our own opinions. I think they'd love it.

Keru

Toph can feel even the ants on thr ground, so specific games arent hard

Keru

Michelle advocating for Katara being a pissbender is hilarious 😂

Apathina

So maiming and killing is more peaceful than restricting movement? So tasers are less peaceful than guns?

Zenru Renari

I agree with Ron because while I can’t fully agree with Hama kidnapping the FireNation citizens i can understand what being locked away for decades would do to someone mentally. So Hamas anger and hatred is honestly justified in my eyes. If i was Katara i would love to learn it cuz that’s a BROKEN technique. I also understand why Katara wasn’t rocking with her because kidnapping people is probably where she lost her at.

Zenru Renari

Also Waterbender Vs Waterbender, Katara is stronger than Hama. She’s not only younger but a prodigy. She absorbed the water from the plants into herself to regain control, idk if you guys saw that. She overpowers Hama due to her youth and natural raw talent. As a Waterbender, they have control over their own body(if they’re skilled enough ofc) Also BloodBending isn’t hard. That’s the common misconception, it was only hard for Hama because she had to learn the fundamentals of how to control it because Hama had create it to begin with by herself with only rats to practice on. It’s like when a chef is creating a recipe for a dish, its takes a lot longer and is 10x hard because they have to do a lot of trial and error to ensure everything is correct, vs when they teach someone or explain the perfected recipe to someone who is also a good chef, it’s easier for the other person because the groundwork is already laid out and they already know fundamentals, so all they have to do is apply it. It’s the same thing here, Katara already knew what how to waterbed and got the sensation felt etc etc. so she just had to apply that to the technique Hama explained to her. However like they said, BloodBending can only work when a waterbenders ability is at its peak and that’s ONLY during a full moon. So it’s not a 24/7 ability she has.

ab

Think about how toph just "figured out" metal bending. You never see Toph practicing metal bending before she figured it out. They both have such a mastery of their bending that they could adapt and learn in desperate situations like this. Katara having the sensation of feeling blood bending used against her and her desperately needing to resist was probably helpful in figuring out how to control the blood within herself.

Andrew G

Honestly, Katara doesn't even need bloodbending to body someone. In fact, bloodbending might actually the most *gentle*way to take someone down. No punching. No beating. No burning, slicing, drowning, suffocating, crushing, shocking The shit they can do *without* bloodbending is way worse 😆
