It seems you guys are really enjoying this! & if you did you should check out Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans! Its got a great cast and about just as underrated as Eighty-Six

Kee

I might check it out, the last Gundam I enjoyed was SeeD from my tiny bit self.

Mukit

I feel like shins just suicidal at this point, he thinks he has no reason to live.

Tini loves-NOYA❤️ #remsubaru

It’s about the fact that Lena have to live that when shin dies he will not be forgotten bc he is always the last in his gang family

Kaylee Anderson

Omg it showed water on the window dripping down and it looked like shin was crying thats so cool

Cedric

Shin believes Lena is dead at this point because when he is pointing out where the legion is, he points directly at San magnolia. Now that he thinks they were wiped out he is contemplating what his reason for living is and why he keeps getting left behind.

Raden

Entering the final arc, cant wait

Thamor

Yeah honestly Seed & Destiny was more enjoyable, even if they were little bit corny with Kira MC =)

Thamor

This was more symbolic of the mindset Shin has currently, he is getting mentally exhausted and starting to not really care will he live or die.

We may not get confirmation of Lena’s death, but the legion aren’t trying to kill humans intentionally. Lena and her team were outside in the open. They want the heads of people to get stronger as a force. Lena thus far has been showing that her abilities as a tactical leader are in another class compared to others, hence her quick rise in ranks. Legion Lena may or may not be her fate, but she would make for a terrifying enemy.

So basically the republic refused to get in contact with the federacy if i remember right so there's no way of getting information if there are any survivors. If you remember last episode Frederica saw the Gran Mur falling in the republic. So at this point Shin believes that Lena is dead. There are a lot of symbolism in this episode for Shin's headspace right now. He's getting tired of living so he's starting to not care anymore.

Rewatching this with you guys has been really rewarding. I love how this show pits the “combat veteran” mentality and pride of the 86 to want to continue the fight on behalf of their fallen comrades, against the desperation of the Federacy that needs the 86 to really put up a good fight. The 86 know that they’re the best people for the job, and the Federacy military higher-ups know they’re the best people for the job. Amidst all of that you have the continuous breakdown of Shins mental state as he comes to terms with the Republic getting wiped out and what that means for Lena.

Kee

The whole show (seed) is mediocre from today's standard, but I'd like to believe that if it was remade nowadays with todays animations and some revision to the dialogue that it would hold up pretty well.

Omg! I totally agree. Blooded Iron Orphans does give me the 86 vibes and it is such a good show. Became my favorite Gundam series when it came out

Christina H.

Yes definitely! Iron Blooded Orphans is one of the better ones of the gundam series. One of my favorites of the series. Such a good plot with great character

fun fact: the image they showed for the legion railgun, Morpho, is actually the Schwerer Gustav, a train-mounted artillery piece made by germany around WWII. just like the Morpho, the real life artillery piece had its barrel break after firing for awhile, after which it was sent back to install a spare barrel.
