Glad to see ya'll doing better in your health.. Also at timestamp 8:16- yeah Ron they did.. and it was released last week on the 22nd on playstation.. it's called Avatar The Last Airbender: Quest for Balance but It may be better to wait until y'all finished the series before playing so you don't get spoiled

Saith Uchiha

Thank you Michele for clarifying this is a cartoon not a anime I watched this at 7-6 years old. Honestly I don’t mind pauses but yes this show is for kids even though I still enjoy it as a adult. I remember my lil brother 19 saying he finished his first anime. I tried not to look at him with disappointment all I really said was, that’s not really a anime man. Don’t think too hard. Just enjoy The show is a very good cartoon.

Saith Uchiha

Btw the “ earth bending style” imo has to be a 100% reference to naruto

RorotheShadow

Just to explain to you a little better how the benders bend and "create" their elements: - Airbenders need air, so airbenders can bend air almost anywhere (except underwater, of course, because there's no air). So airbenders don't create air from their hands but use the air and wind around them - Waterbenders obviously need water, so they can only bend water if it is available. So you can also bend snow or ice, since both are water just in a different form (in episode 3 you see Katara bending snow to cover up a firebender's helmet). And there are other ways to get water, although at first glance there isn't one, but I would be spoiling it for you (or rather Ron) if I said that now, so just wait and see 😉 - Earthbenders need something like stone or earth to bend (or even coal, as we saw in the episode), but earthbenders also need constant contact with the earth or stone. This is also the reason why all earthbenders often walk around barefoot, as seen in the episode with King Bumi - And firebenders don't create fire out of nothing. Breathing is very important for firebending. Uncle Iroh had also explained this in the first episode when he was training Zuko. Breath is converted into energy in the body, this energy is then transferred to the limbs and ultimately becomes fire. So, good breathing is crucial when firebending. I hope I could help you to understand the whole bending-system a little bit better, Ron 😂😂 I really hope you're both feeling better already and please don't forget to get enough rest. Health comes first! ❤❤

Every cartoon in Japan is considered an Anime. The definition of Anime is the art style used. People in Japan consider Avatar the last airbender to be an anime due to the art style used. It's considered an American anime influenced animated tv series.

Alex

Now you're in the real plot, the cabbage plot.

RorotheShadow

Most people wouldn't actually recognize Aang as the Avatar unless he's airbending, because there haven't been any airbenders for 100 years (because they were wiped out by the Fire Nation) and almost no one knows what they look like anymore

andIJDC

^^All of this! Also it's good not to think of one type of bending as more powerful than another. They all have their strengths and weaknesses as you will come to understand more as the show goes on. That's also why the Avatar needs to master ALL the styles, because there's no single bending that could defeat all the others, it's a matter of Balance.

Michael H

Whether it’s considered an anime or not depends on the person you ask. Ultimately, though, it really doesn’t matter.

Apathina

The bending styles are based on different types of martial arts -(Tai chi) forms the basis of (waterbending)💧 -(Hung Gar) forms the basis of (earthbending)🗿 -(Northern Shaolin) system forms the basis of (firebending)🔥 -(Baguazhang) forms the basis of (airbending)💨

Apathina

FUN FACT: The bending styles are based on different types of martial arts -(Tai chi) forms the basis of (waterbending)💧 -(Hung Gar) forms the basis of (earthbending)🗿 -(Northern Shaolin) system forms the basis of (firebending)🔥 -(Baguazhang) forms the basis of (airbending)💨

jeremiah sulaica

Tyros fathers VA is kevin micheal richardson he voice acts alot of character like bubbles from lilo and stitch, the shredder in TMNT, barney rubble in the flinstones even the joker in batman and the lizard in uncle grandpa the dudes a legend every generations childhood basically

jeremiah sulaica

Sorry not bubbles but captain gantu that big shark dude hes also in alot of other shows like the boondocks, the Cleveland show, static shock, gravity falls literally everything

LJ

Yea ur not creating anything when bending. Your just manipulating what’s already there. Oh but there is so much more 🤫🤫🤫

Dale Diaz

Omashu remains free from the fire nation. this city was occupied by the fire nation

Yoona Kim

Kinda confused what Ron said idk he said "water bendings can do everything" wdym??.

LivvyB

The Cabbage man is iconic😂……‘Don’t worry, I hear cowards float’..best line of the day,

Yoona Kim

Ron really wants Aang to get noticed by the fire nation lol or get caught. And questions about whether they notice Aang during the fight.

Michelle Lam

Thank you!! Super helpful!! But i will say, Fire being creating from breathing just feels a bit cheap compared to the others LOL

Trinature

yeah they recently made a Avatar Game called: Avatar The Last Airbender - Quest for Balance. ITS REALLY BAD. And its incredibly sad that ATLA has not had a big AAA Studio Production...

Katsuo

i love how Sokka calls the fire nation soldier an idiot and he just accepted it. XD

Sandy Gamboa

so the way i figured it with people not knowing Aang is an airbender is that the Airbenders and their culture along with them have been dead for 100 years. Most have never seen an airbender not even in paintings or depictions, all they have are the stories that survived and have been passed down. Obviously there are a few exceptions like Bumi and other super old people who were alive back when the air nomads were but they are very few and far between. I'm sure their kids just think they have dementia talking about the "cloud people that had tattoos and flew int he sky" 😅 Its like If a Dodo bird just appeared one day even though most people know they are extinct and have been for a long time, i think most people would see the dodo and just think, "that thing looks like a weird tucan, or a mutated penguin" or something right? The average joe non expert wouldn't immediately jump to, "That's a dodo bird!".

Sandy Gamboa

also Michelle, the voice of the Warden is George Taki, Oh Myyyyyyy 😉

Sandy Gamboa

sorry for all the comments, I am making them as I watch the video lol 😅 Michelle, to answer your question right after that last episode, the village that Haru is in is considered a Fire Nation Colony, it is Earth Kingdom territory that the Fire Nation captured and they imposed the no earth bending rule to keep their hold on the region and squash rebellion

Aaron Kinnard

this show is proof we need to watch some shows in dub. dubs aren't always bad as people make them out to be :P

Lilo

This show was originally in english so...

Coopy

Why is Ron suddenly a genius in understanding Avatar but he's not like than in other animes?

Alex

People in japan consider avatar an anime because the japanese word for literally all animation from mickey mouse to demon slayer is anime. It's not actually a popular show in Japan, never was really marketed there. Anime is a borrowed word from english, that we in turn borrowed back to specifically refer to Japanese cartoons. Sort of like how Italians borrowed the word noodle to differentiate between pasta and asian style noodles. The word noodle in the English speaking world still retains its meaning, even if to an Italian it represents something specific. A lot of anime btw does have a specific anime style sort of like what atla emulates to a degree, but there's still a lot of stuff that looks nothing like what we normally think of as anime, both old and new stuff, but it's still anime

K LuminArySolAr

This show isnt dubbed it is an American animation so its original language is designed to be in English, although some shows are better if not just as good in English like Naruto and Dragon Ball in my opinion

Zeallust

The reason everybody in Omashu can earthbend, and nobody here can, is because Onashu is an independent Earth Kingdom city with 0 fire nation inside of it. This village is currently occupied by the Fire Nation, this village is a Fire Nation Territory. Its an earth kingdom city, but it has been taken over.
