JP Bandoy

Ummm NO WAYYY!!!??? LETS GOOOO!!!!!!! 🔥

Prateek Sridhar

Wth?!? this came out of nowhere 😂😂

Cold_Cyber

Nice but not nice but nice, cause now the anime is kinda spoiled 😬

Jahmilla

Can’t wait for y’all to watch the anime (my favorite of the big 3)! And/or read the manga, such a great story with the best world building 😁

KaTaKuRiii

I just came here new to just see this reaction... why did One Piece make that with me ufff -.- hopefully there will be more One Piece content ^^

Alyn

Hopefully more one piece content 🙏🏼

Thomas Juino

I’ve seen the anime and the live action, and I found it great overall, the best live action adaptation we’ve never had for sure. Hope you enjoy it

T K

the live action only covers maybe 50 episodes so this should be a fun little teaser to get you hype for the anime

britt m

Ooh nice~ also the live action and the show are different enough that you'd still enjoy the anime if yall decide to watch it!!

gdnsx

aw man i was hoping u guys would watch the anime first but it's understandable since u guys will most likely not start one piece anytime soon

Aleksandra

One Piece live action is a great introduction to the series! I was sceptical at first given previous live adaptations and because how long and popular the series is but it's really great. It introduces you to the story, world and characters and it does a really good job given it's only 8 eps long! Even if you've never watched it you can enjoy it and get on the adventure with us!

Brandon

Was hoping they watched the anime first so they dont get spoiled

Aleksandra

ALSO side note Zorro is super hot so that's a treat to see him on the screen :)

nassra

the animation it self its colorful and the acting is good but i still love the anime so much

Ray Parker

Luffy's character is impossible to play, but the actor does about as good as you could expect. Zoro and Nami are played incredibly well. Also, minor spoilers about your analysis: In the anime it takes a LOT more for Luffy to convince Zoro to be set free. You both were spot on there. As for Nami, she is incredibly devious. Its not clear in this version just how far she will go, but you will start to understand her actions and motives better as the show goes on.

just some random car guy

I would also recommend the anime reaction 👀👀 I know it’s long 1000+ episodes but it’s highly worth it and to also get better caught up so that you understand the series better

KevUrb

Honestly this wasnt a horrible decision. The live action is a decent GATEWAY into the anime/manga, the whole season 1 condenses about the first 40-50 episodes of the anime, with a couple things out of place and what not but its not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things. If you end up liking the live action enough, it might get you more into wanted to watch the anime so its a win/win. Playing luffy is really difficult, the actor did an admirable job but i hope you guys eventually watch the anime to see Luffy there. The rest of the cast of the live action did an exceptional job, this was easily the best live action adaptation ever pulled off.

edin

it's fine you guys are the target audience they wanna reach to hopefully one day pick up the anime or the manga

andIJDC

Tbh I've always been iffy about starting One Piece and I only recently started watching the anime because the live action made me curious. I gotta say, I am so glad I did! And I'm happy to see yall enjoying the live action and hope it can attract many more new viewers as well!! ❤️ Also it was explained in this episode that since Zoro did attack Marines at the bar, the penalty was 7 days tied up in "the yard." Then when Zoro said he didn't want to join them nor was he planning to stick around, axe-hand basically threatened to warn all other Marine bases so that Zoro would never be able to collect pirate bounties basically ending his career, hence his choices were "a new career, or the yard." Then when the blonde came up to Zoro tied up, the blonde basically insinuated that his dad wasn't planning on letting Zoro go even after 7 days and was just gonna let him die there - that's why Zoro let Luffy release him. (And of course there are some differences compared to the anime)

Yoona Kim

I wonder if you guys have seen the episode

Hamad Panzer

Actually i like you reacting on it, bcs i wanna see the reaction for someone who not watched the anime series.

Thomas Juino

Concerning Nami there’s not so much dialogue between her and puffy that’s been cut out, I mean, they don’t meet in the same way in the anime, but characters in OP are trustworthy enough to forge strange alliances out of the blue

Isabell

I love nearly all the actor choices especially the main ones they are spot on. Personally I don't like Gol D Roger and Shanks that much bc they are not epic and badass enough for me but it's not that deep

Carlos D

Sweet!!! I'm so happy you guys are watching this. I'm really liking it so far and hopefully you guys like it enough to make you want to start watching the anime.

Thomas Juino

Disclaimer, don't start to search a reason for some characters appearance XD

Hussaw

midpiece

bluelimekine

Might have missed it from the dialogue in Axe-Hand room, but Zoro wanted to exchange Mr. 7’s body for bounty money, but Axe-Hand said that the penalty for hurting his marines was 7 days with no food or water. On the other hand, the casting choices for almost all of the characters are spot on. Oda, the mangaka of One Piece had a hand in choosing all of the actors who were going to portray his characters, so it’s pretty legit!

Brandon Shrivnauth

The notification for this video made my day! So excited for you guys to see the rest. Very faithful to the manga with the creator supporting the changes story wise and casting ❤️

Ethan Her

Cant wait for ONE PIECE ❤️

kdaW

EFF YEAH! I'm excited to see the perspective of anime fans that have not seen the anime yet tbh.

Fedei

As someone who watched One Piece way back when and kinda knows the lore, this adaptation was great. I do like that you all are trying it out just to get a taste of this story. I'm not a huge fan to the show but have to say this really want me to watch the series again. Hope it does for you too.

Saith Uchiha

Nooooooo how shalt you reply with such blasphemy. Okay tbr I like their reaction but I want them to watch the anime I literally did not watch this on purpose but watching their reaction makes me want them to start their journey.

MARMAR

As a huge O.ne P.iece fan, I wanna hate on this before seeing it so bad, but I've honestly only heard great things so fingers crossed

Saith Uchiha

It’s not the anime but it’s one of the best live action I’ve seen wish they had a larger budget. Imo they should of just watched the anime.

Kee

I really enjoy this live action because they don't take it too seriously. They wear the goofiness of the anime with pride. I'm really curious to see how they will tackle the most serious theme and scenes.

Karaka

As a person who’s a big One Piece fan I have to admit this live action was so much better than I expected it to become. The only thing that I kinda didn’t like was how they made Luffy seem a lot weaker than he actually is. (He’s still strong but doesn’t seem as strong as he’s supposed to be)

SurKhan

if yall ever do decide to watch the anime version, might i suggest watching One Pace. some dude basically went through the entire show and cut down alot of extra useless scenes without messing up the dialogue nor the energy of the show. apparently it saves like 40% of your time while doing a fantastic job of giving the story at a better pace

Karaka

I also suggest that you guys see this Live Action and the anime as 2 separate shows and not compare them when you start the anime, since there’s obviously a couple of changes

Indifferent Denji

This had about $17.27 million per episode put into it how much more do you want? Id say at least 3mil more would help them put more scenes in but I still think its good enough.

Darby

Couple of things: Zoro doesn't hate pirates - he just hunts them as a job. Nami had no choice but to cooperate with Luffy at the time. They both wanted the same thing and he wasn't going to be stealthy about it like she was - most likely her plan was to use this useful idiot to her advantage. Luffy is rubber - not gummy. The devil fruit he ate is just called the Gum Gum Fruit. Also, you have to stop thinking of this as if it were real life lol they're depicting an anime universe - using a sword in your mouth is probably the most realistic thing about these characters' abilities lol

nessy

omg i am so surprised you decided to watch this one guys!! enjoy and you'll gonna love it :)) hoping you'll give the anime one a try too soon!!

Juelle‼️‼️

I joined ur Patreon specifically for this uncut reaction I really do love one piece. The live action isn’t completely different from the anime but they do change a lot ur not getting spoiled as much as some ppl say this show only covers the first arcs of the show it’s called the East blue saga the 8th ep is right before they head to the grand line so it honestly doesn't scratch the surface of the whole adventure. To add on the person that made one piece (oda) everything went through him so casting every scene all of that went through him first the casting is great also to add about the nami thing u have to realize that she is a thief and that she can act any certain way to get what she wants just cus she all nice with luffy dosnt mean anything but you’ll see that’s also why I say don’t watch the live action before the anime in the next ep you’ll lean more about zoro but u guys def missed the scene where he agreed to Morgan’s terms to be in that yard tied up he was gonna wait the 7 days out until he found out he was gonna get killed regardless. Right now there isn’t a ton of powers because they’re in the East blue some ppl don’t even believe in devil fruits because they’ve never seen it however when the get to the grand line almost everyone has a power, also I really find it funny that u try to use logic when this is an anime adaptation. Also u won’t find out about Morgan’s jaw they don’t even explain that in the anime jut like they don’t explain his ax hand it’s character design that’s all. And another this about nami you’ll see why she HATES pirates in the 7th/8th ep and that hatred runs deep, also not every hates pirates zoro just dosnt care for them he has his own thing going on (as he says) so he collects their bounty’s for the money I don’t know if u caught it but that’s why he was carrying around Mr 7s top half he was collecting his bounty. You won’t learn about luffy parents in the live action u gotta watch the anime for that also the accent thing the guy that plays older luffy is his actual accent luffy is Brazilian the guy that plays luffy is Mexican ( not saying it’s the same) but u get my point oda choose the actors I highly doubt he was gonna change anything. Also one piece is long because of bad pacing not because of how long the story is I mean ye the story is pretty long but it’s pacing is why there are currently 1073 eps

SirGeel

How you going to watch the live action before the actual anime??? no wayyyyyyyyyyyy. is wat it is

onepinksheep

Also, Nami is not a fighter. She's not going to fight unless she has absolutely no choice. Attack a random pirate who shows up who's not hostile towards her? Yeah, no, she's not going to take the risk of fighting him.

onepinksheep

Gold Roger and Shanks aren't immediately epic, especially at the beginning. Gold Roger was a pirate at the end of his ropes and Shanks was essentially a traveling bum. Our impression of them is built up the more we learn about them in the series. IMHO, the characters are well cast.

Melker Linderoth

The casting was basically spot on imo

onepinksheep

Absolutely no reason to. If they watch the anime, they get spoiled for the live action and manga. If they watch the live action, they get spoiled for the manga and the anime. If the read the manga, they get spoiled for the anime and live action. It doesn't matter where you start, and they're right that getting into the live action right now is the correct call, as it lets them ride the wave of current trends.

Isabell

Yeah I know. Roger wasn’t in his prime but he still looked very goofy to me next to the garp actor. Also if they intend to continue the show the actors will be the same and I can’t imagine that shanks actor to do the things he does later (marineford arc for example) he lacks that super-Alpha-Male imposing aura if you know what I mean. Things like this will look very cringey to me

KeenEye

Fun Fact - they used the original voice actors for the Japanese dub of the live action

Gabi

Sooooooo glad you guys are reacting to this first!!!! Waaaay too many episodes in the anime to only watch the live action after finishing

Marlen Mendez

Ahhh you guys watching this literally made my night! I think that they did a great job in casting! I get that there are some things you guys might not understand or get bc there is just so much content in between that isn't explained or changed but I am glad you guys are enjoying it so far!

Faiz

You guys might wanna start predicting and discussing at the END of the episodes instead talking over the show and missing dialogues/scenes

juan chavez

It is cartoon 🤣 you dont gotta worry about it tbh idk the difference between anime and cartoon ig just more epic the cartoon?

SomeoneElse

This Netflix show covers about 40 episodes of the anime. There are 1000+ episodes

2023-09-03 16:46:55 To be honest, I wouldn't recommend watching the One Piece Live action cause they spoiled ONE major fact that only appears in Episode 314 which is the shock factor. But the Live action is well done, I love it but still has some flaws here and there. If the Live action will make new audience love the story and read the manga and watch the anime then I would love for them to watch.

Just to point out Zoro does not hate Pirates, he just hunts them for their bounty. Nami hates pirates. The actors and CG is fantastic. I only have complains for 1 character design name called ArL***. I wish he would be more bigger built in the Live Action. Not revealing the entire name so there is no spoilers for you.

As ron stated, from a reactors stand point it would be the smart move to react to it now while the hype is up. Means more views on their YT channel

Dyto Mane

Seems like Netflix found a goldmine of content. Though, actors will turn old by the time the catch up.

Brandon

I mean its just my opinion especially since me and some others have asked for one piece ever since they started their patreon. And I know im in the minority but it makes me not want to see an anime reaction since they whats going to happen

DB Cooper

in the anime luffy sets zoro free without having met nami yet. they made a decision to introduce Nami and Zorro at the same time in the live action.

Kingkong15

I haven't watched one piece completly since its so much but I thought the live action will suck like any other live action I ever watched but it's actually very good. I remember trying to start the anime multiple times but since it's so old and very slow I always gave up after the first 50-80 episodes. I really love the charakters in the live action and I think I even read that the creator of one piece said he could't imagine a better luffy actor. What is also really cool is that I watched the german synchro and they actually got almost all voice actors from the anime to do the live action too so it really feels more familiar for germans. And another fun fact, in german Luffy is called Ruffy since japanese don't really have a L and R it got translated diffrently and it feels weird to watch it in english but I'm looking forward to your reactions! Always entertaining and it gives me a reason to watch the show again without feeling stupid for watching it multiple times alone xD Thanks like always!

Watching one piece will unlock new anime achievements in your drawers. Lot’s of anime shows are targeted and themed towards attracting a certain audience. Naruto portrays martial arts and applies Indian philosophy (Manifestation of spiritual powers: “Chakra”) and the theory of fighting, all to incorporate a fantastical sense towards martial arts with an emphasis on the theory of fighting more than it does on “Literature”. One Piece however, has the sophistication in many components and sub fields which now act as a framework for the story. When you ask every moderately experienced one piece fan on whether they know the anime, they’ll never describe one piece as an ‘anime’ but an incredible written work of Literature(“A story”) with such carefully thought sophistication. There’s more emphasis on character development and world building in one piece, so good that it might be the only work of literature that incorporates equal essence of reality and fantasy. There’s not a secret as to why One Piece fans are the most active in the anime community, it has to do with the emotional attachment we all feel towards a particular aspect of the story, whether that’s your favorite character whom you truly empathize with and have a higher understanding of or simply the relatability you share with Franky as an engineer, Sanji as a perv and a good cook, Zoro as a tough guy, Luffy as the most care-free, Nami as a navigator, Robin as an archaeologist, Brook as a musician, Ussop as a funny guy, or Jimbe as a minority. Furthermore, to make it clear, flashbacks and background stories in one piece never ends; the sophistication grows with each character as the story progresses.

Bruce Li

I don’t really like the fact they altered so many plots for the worse which also inevitable changed character personalities but oh well, at least the production quality is very good and the pacing is better, and the choice of actors are pretty good.

SOUL AGONY

I think the two of you will enjoy both the live action and anime can’t wait to see the next reaction

SirCatelot

So when should we expect next episodes? is it 1 every week or a couple?

dave_ehm

OPLA is good but IMHO it doesn’t compare to the anime. The feels the anime gives cannot be duplicated. Having read the manga I was still very affected when first watching the anime, shit I still get the feels on re-watches.

dave_ehm

My 2nd watch was in the Japanese dub and I felt it improved it.

Juan Pablo Lechon

Let me put it this way… I’m down there with you if you do one piece. I’ll keep paying 😎😛

Megan Prescott

I don't think you guys should be worried. This is a great adaptation and it's an adaptation of the Manga and not the Anime. So if you guys still want to watch the anime later on you'll definitely notice differences. I think it's so good and such a good way to get people into One Piece. I mean, starting off with 8 episodes vs 1000 ?? Way easier to digest lol Also, Oda (the writer of One Piece) hand picked these actors and has a lot of input into the show. He is really happy with the adaptation and you should really trust the guy who truly knows the characters and his own work best. A lot of people with complaints are people who only watched the anime and that's because the anime is an adaptation of the manga with it's own changes (and lots of filler that changed the pacing of the story). It's never going to be a 1:1 replica no matter how you look at it, but it's done so well every fan I know who is truly into everything One Piece has been in love with it.

Bruce Li

both. I like the original story way better, Oda is a master of foreshadowing so every detail has its meaning when connected together.

MrPoseidon

I've actually not watched this in hopes that the two of you would get to watch it. Hopefully it ignites your passion to watch the anime.

Hector Tavares

oh my god, what a pleasant surprise!!! if this show is the spark for you guys to start one piece(anime), it was worth every penny they invested in this series

asha

i haven't watched OP either so im also watching this show first then deciding whether or not to watch the anime but so far im loving it! i know some things about the anime from clips on tiktok and stuff and i can say i LOVE the casting choice for zoro and that actor for luffy is just spot on to me lol so yeah i think its okay to watch this show bc i can tell im gonna watch the anime when i finish. its just too entertaining

Leona DiCarryo

Zorro's punishment for beating up the marines was being tied up for 7 days in the yard. He didn't think that was such a terrible punishment, so instead of making a bigger enemy of the marines, he just decided to take the punishment. The reason he decided to run away after Luffy set him free, was because the Morgans son said that he wouldn't get out alive or something like that. So when Luffy set him free, he now had an incentive to leave, since his punishment suddenly went from 7 days in the yard, to death. Also, Luffy saying that it was a waste for him to be tied up here, when there is something you want out there, was probably also a motivator

Anthony

There’s a bunch of details left out but it’s not done poorly in my opinion as somebody who is caught up in the manga but the original reason Zoro agreed to be tied up was to spare the little girl from punishment and they ended up just deciding to kill him. In the manga, Morgan is way more cruel and tyrannical to the point where everybody in town and his marines fear him more than pirates. There’s a lot of details that really make everything make sense. Make no mistake, season 2 is gonna knock your socks off. I can’t wait. But the manga scene when Shanks finds out Luffy ate the devil fruit is one of the funniest moments in the whole series.

Marcus

I’m glad you guys made this choice! The live action anime is hot and popping right now. I’ve seen like 3 seasons of one piece and this live action converted very well. There were small changes but the show has a the stamp and verification of the original author of one piece. Some changes are necessary when things go from animation to live action.

adan blas

I don't think they could have chosen a better luffy.

Justin SQFL

I love anime so I'm watching the series atm but it's definitely extremely boring. Hoping it will pick up soon. Not a fan of pirates though lol, the live action show was good though so it's making me watch the anime. I'll come back in a couple seasons to give my new take on it.

Justin Moore

Damn, was hoping they wouldn't cover the nami thing in the Live Action.

hurryupmode

re: why bring in the barrel without checking it? They were attacking a passenger ship. They assumed it's part of the plunder that had floated in from the boat they attacked. The barrel is labeled Gyoru's Fish Packing, a famous business in the East Blue.

hurryupmode

re: Luffy's Abilities. When Eiichiro Oda was first thinking about One Piece many many years ago, he said that he wanted to challenge himself as a manga writer, so he tried to give Luffy a silly and seemingly useless ability, then find new and unique ways to make him viable in a combat situation that makes sense within the logic and rules of the world.

Ricardo Fierro

well i didnt see any netflix live action before, so cant compare if its best or worts than the other adaptations, but due to the great comments among the people i can think its really great, and it really is, i enjoyed a lot, the only thing i dont like its that koby is younger than he shows in here, and well i think it is for the difficult to a younger boy to act the character, i mean i dont like that fact but the development was so great, pretty hyped for this series

iamjoker247

So im sure someone said but they took the og anime voice actors for nami, Luffy, zoro, sanji and usop for the Japanese dub and used them for it which i think is awesome
