IMO octopath traveler 2 is a great "classic", but also "modern" jrpg and definitely a good pickup on the switch!

Juicetown

Marcus's daughter is actually a young Tahm Kench.

tbh I don't really think any of the characters in this show are "bad" per say. I think they all for the most part believe what they're doing to be what's best for their people. Now are some of them being selfish and inconsiderate just to achieve that, yes 100%.

Art of Trolling

Ron you are thinking of Pusha T

2023-08-17 06:11:53 I loved this reaction!!! btw, I've played LoL off and on since 2010...which i assume is strange for a girl...but i main Anivia (Froggen-sama <3), love Amumu....and respect that Ron is not saying anything since the "majority" thinks its spoilers...but i always thought Arcane was made for LoL players anyways...I know Ron does not know lore and he seems like a noob compared to us who are obsessed over it...but whatever, let them stay in the dark with simple steps like my Q does this and my W does that in LoL...Ron does not read character profiles or listen to there verbiage and repertoire in game... he misses alot....-_- which is fine...but he is giving "spoilers"*sarcasm*...sorry to the world that thinks Ron knows something Michelle does not....for once... I watch these scenes over atleast 5 times in Arcane with soo much amazement and awe everytime ; i feel it hits different for us that know... Good job guys <3, love your reactions

So there is alot of fan theories that Jinx's tattoos are a symbol of Vi when she promised to always find her (3rd episode) while Vi's tattoos are all mechanical and machine-like to always remember Powder's inventions.

LelouchFam

funnily enough the song in the beginning is called misfit toys and its the firelights theme song... so good description there Ron! And yes you are in fact correct its Pusha T the man that bodied drake hahah

I feel like Marcus is the worst person in the show. Like the council are bad for causing all of the under city's problems but I wouldn't necessarily call any of them bad people, just incompetent as a leadership group. Silco looks broadly "evil" but at least he's fighting for his people. Marcus just enabled a bunch of bs cuz he was getting paid.

Mango

Vigilante is the word that Michelle is trying to say right? About the firelights. Also can’t wait for the finaaale reaction!

pedantech

Strong disagree. You saw Silco threaten his daughter. Sure, Silco offered Marcus the carrot, but he's always also threatened him with a stick. Marcus doesn't strike me as someone capable of winning against Silco. He seems tormented that he knows he's doing the wrong thing, doesn't want to do it, but can't find a way out. You saw how he fantasized about blowing himself and Silco up, but then what of his daughter? She'd grow up without parents. And Silco would just find another enforcer to do his bidding.

Why are people saying talking about characters is spoiling? The show was made for people who play the game

SirCatelot

no it wasnt? just because it's based off of leagues lore and characters doesn't mean it was made for people who play the game

GD LoreRiley

When the show has many references only known to those who play the game it was made with them in mind but sent out for a broader audience to not only get people to play the game but also make them money for the league and other projects.

Interesting fact for those who don’t know, all but 1 episode (which they have not seen yet) start with a memory from a character’s past. Usually the memory that started them down the path that got them where they are now and the thing that drives their decisions. The reason this episode’s intro is so different is because the firelights are Ekko’s path and he won’t cling to old memories and endanger his present. The one time he does Jinx doesn’t hesitate.

HxTz

I never played LOL, but I agree with you GD. The only reason this show exists is because of LOL. I've watched some of their YouTube videos where they made short clips of characters to give them a brief summary/story. This show was clearly an idea they've had for a while. This show was made for those who play the game, but they also created it for everyone by showing us how the world came to be. If they made a show where everyone already has magic, abilities, etc; then it would be confusing and uninteresting to us who have not played the game.

defnotdai

Uh not soley. And even still, so what, that doesn't mean you should willingly spoil it for people who haven't played it. The reality is, everyone hasn't played it, so if you're watching it with someone who hasn't played it, you should be conscious and considerate of that. It's simple. Anyways I respect Ron for being understanding of that.

Maverick

Silco is pretty objectively bad man lol, ruthlessly killing people, forcing child labor, getting thousands of ppl addicted to shimmer lol. Cute thought tho.

defnotdai

Well yeah he’s the antagonist. But I guess I’m saying, who’s being bad just for the sake of being bad? My point is there’s more layers to the characters than just, “is he bad” “is she good” “are they evil”.

GD LoreRiley

Ron don’t be afraid to explain things already presented to you. The fact the is comment section had you afraid to even say Ekkos name is crazy.

andIJDC

I've made a comment about this in the first episodes but the fact is that this show CAN AND IS enjoyed by both players and non-players. LoL players can enjoy those extra tidbits throughout the show (like knowing the significance of Ekko's watch or the drawing of Jayce and his hammer) for what they are, either fun little Easter Eggs or foreshadowing. But on the other side, for non-players, NOT knowing these things makes it more enjoyable when the twists do appear in the show, so it's taking away the enjoyment for them when players start pointing out all these deep lore "references" (and as a viewer you can't guarantee them that this one tiny lore detail that you explained isn't going to appear later in the show as a major plot point) There's a balance. The bottom line is just be considerate of all viewers, it's not that big a deal nor difficult to accomplish.

I don’t know if your into tactical RPGs but Fire Emblem: Three Houses is incredible. I’m a huge fan of final fantasy tactics and a friend of mine led me to that game. I’ve replayed it through each story. Very good 👍

Justin SQFL

Of course I go to watch this episode an first thing on screen is a sushi roll 😭😭 I'm on day two of fasting for 7 days 😭😭😭

Mackenzie

Little thing, but the humming you hear when Jinx first walks onto the bridge is the same song that Vi hums for powder in the opening scene of episode one, when the girls see their dead parents on the bridge.
