Oceanboy____

This is exactly how you should be feeling lol

Gino

The light novel is the source material, not the manga

Ray Parker

You almost had it Ron. Roswal's line at the end has 2 key words in it.

Chris619

No just keep watching the show. We need 2 episodes in 1 upload 🤪

Mouson

The manga hasn't caught up with the anime yet :v I was also intrigued, so to relieve my frustration, I read the novel. You can instead watch more episodes :)

kkloyd

i wonder what happens if he dies from old age

Lye Batenkaitos

Fyi Re zero is the only isekai like this, the rest of them are usually just simple, but re zero is very famous due to its complex writing and nature. This is the one story that will never spoon feed you info. Taking notes is a great way to watch this series as it will test you on your knowledge and memory very often! All arcs in this show will be intricate like this so get ready haha

MARMAR

I believe the most flushed out way to approach the story is through the light novels which are written like normal books in first person so you get the characters full thought process and currently the latest installment (Book 22) Breaks into Season 4 (hypothetically) [S3 is technically books 15-20 and i believe the most compelling arc to date {Excluding the japanese only books I can't read 23-33 which is current T.T}]

SWAGxMAGICIAN

Hey you guys actually did see the black serpent’s venom in the Emilia movie

DarkSamiri430

"What changed?" What was the one thing Subaru could never do.

Thamor

Just rewatch season 2 on your own time after finishing it, maybe closer to when season 3 is coming out next year. This anime is the best in worldbuilding, but at the same time it's not that easy to understand everything on your first watch. When you watch the show fully again after seeing it fully till the end of season 2, you will notice things much easier and understand what was happening a lot easier too (you will understand a lot when you get further into season 2). Re:Zero is mystery show for Subaru who is in a world that isn't his and have no knowledge of anything about it, but what he has learned until this point. Witch of Pride was fun to see as she said Subaru thinks himself to be sinner, but her powers didn't inflict pain so he isn't a sinner, but in his mind thinks it.

Thamor

Without spoiling or anything, there is a reason Witch of Envy has given those powers to Subaru, small hint about it is in season 1 episode 1 of Re:Zero. That said, I would assume he wouldn't make it to old age before dying and getting reset to a time where he needs to change things.

kkloyd

What minut this hint i dont remember maybe even didn’t notice

S.C.A.V.A

Yeah they throw alot of clues at you specially the final scene but when you dont know what to look for its easy to miss them.

daniel kurtz

Some questions are simply left unanswered from this season, but rest assured, alot of questions will be answered in the next two episodes.

2023-07-21 12:51:07 The source material for Re:Zero anime is from a light novel (LN), which I believe it's your first light novel anime. LNs are basically short novels that are roughly around 200-300 pages long with a few manga-style illustrations. With this form, a lot more info is packed in and the story is in more detail than most mangas. But with that, a lot of details and Subaru's inner monologues are skipped in the anime so I think it's worth checking it out. They're quick, fun, and easy to read. It's ongoing with 34 volumes out now (only 22 officially English-translated volumes). Season 2 ended at volume 15 and people estimated it's going to take roughly 55-60 volumes to reach the ending. People know this because the LN is actually adapted from a finished web novel version, so Re:Zero is a finished story with an ending. So as you can see, you're only about 1/4 way there in the story so buckle up and enjoy the crazy ride!

googlek1 .

This story is good, but I was lost so badly when I first watched it. I totally understand where you're coming from. It's easier being able to watch it back-to-back. Imagine waiting for the next episode and trying to remember what happened before. Wish you could have started with a different Isekai.

SATELLA IS HEREEEEE , shit bouta go down!

T K

is the web novel available in english? i finished this season and was interested in the light novel but I saw that it may still take 5-10 years to end

Prateek Sridhar

I really hope you guys put Reincarnated as a Slime into the mix after you're done with Re:Zero. So you guys get to taste a different flavor of Isekai :p

Jonymush

there is a website named witch cult translations that translates the web novel and all of the side stories that are not officially translated to english yet. that would be your best bet to read well ahead.

Jonymush

my assumption when this episode aired is since Satella could not stop Subaru from telling Echidna about return by death she forced herself into the real world to confront him in person. I was also of the thought that maybe Satella took Emilia's body during this time since she is technically sealed away and unable to literally come in person.

About fate and the paths you were talking about at the end I'd recommend re-watching the beginning of the conversation at the start of the episode (I for sure had to do that). It mentions that he was given this power to redo his destiny because the witch doesn't want him to die, but seems anyone else he saves is not in the witches plan (like Rem), but his own decision. I'm only a show-watcher so I'm spitballing with you - but my theory is that besides his own survival the path he is on is actually not locked in or fated, he could continue with a worse "save" but he is choosing himself to play on hardmode to get the best save.

Cold_Cyber

Hopefully u guys can add black clover and reincarnated as a slime to the list

makimama

That post credit scene was such a reveal! Not sure if you guys got it, but its not cryptic at all, what Roswaal said was very literal so I suggest you watch it again! Also last episode Roswaal explained about the books Book of Wisdom: The one true book that tells the future Copies of the book of Wisdom: 1 owned by Beatrice and 1 owned by (your guess) The Gospels: The defective versions, they are given to potential Witch Cult members. Someone else explained it above but I want to also leave what Echidna explained about Subaru's Return by Death ability With no limit to use, it was given to him to avoid being dead. Ironically he dies a lot but it is the Return by Death that lets him overcome those deaths. Think of it like a decision making game, like "Detroit: Become Human" or "Life is Strange", but with infinite paths and infinite endings you can take. The catch is that you can only load up your latest save point, which you have no control over. It's Subaru's choice what direction he wants the story to go, and his own decision if he wants to save certain characters in the progress. I don't know exactly which points you guys are confused about so I tried my best explaining some things that may be confusing. I think you guys already understand most of the points I made and from this episode you guys understood the Witch's tea party place isn't a physical place. I could help you guys understand better without any spoilers if you have any specific questions in mind! But for the most part I'd say the show explains itself well as it goes on, just the pacing may be a bit slow.

Eternals Developing

I'm a bit behind so this reply comes late, but this was a very good spoiler-free explanation. Great work :-D

nompfer

Can someone explain the payment to me that Subaru gave her at the end? I don't really get it.

Froxy Fox Foxy

I have a speculation. Sattela is Emilia from another timeline. A timeline where Subaru died leaving her behind. So she became so powerful as a witch and somehow managed to give the power to never die to this Subaru so he would never leave her ever alone.. But this is only a speculation. You belive what u all want too. I'm opened to ideas.
