Loved the reaction you guys. There is an added ending scene in the director's cut of this episode that would've been great for you guys to see as it gives the cliffhanger that you guys were expecting. However, it's also the opening scene to season 2 so you guys aren't really missing out. Personally, I thought it worked so well as a brutal cliffhanger though. You guys will see what I mean when you get there! :D

That last confrontation looked kinda lame. But remember, Petelgeuse didn't have any body to host his soul, so he returned to his DEAD body, and was extremely weakened. He knew he was going to die inevitably soon, so he charged headlong at Subaru in his last moments.

Season 2 of re zero is my favorite I can't wait. I predict you guys will lose your mind to the first episode. Frozen bones is also a really good movie to go deeper into Emilia's background. And it also has some world lore thrown in there as well. Would have been amazing to watch this episode with the directors cut version to see the added final scene. They released the directors cut of this episode shortly before season 2 released and it was a crazy cliffhanger. Im looking forward to your reaction during s2 episode 1. It had me dying for more when I first watched it. Also when will the livestream to talk about s1 thoughts happen? I know you guys more or less plan on doing it during regularly scheduled streams but when is that? Would love to join. If you still do these .

the season 2 actually happenning right after season 1, no time skip, something about to go down again. but when the season 1 first came out, they are not planning to have season 2 at that moment, so they ended it so peacefully. the eposiol named "thats all this story about". And we waited soooooo long to have season2, and the season 2 is sooooooooooo good. this is the first anime I cant wait for the season 2 and started to read the novel.

If you have not already, I would HIGHLY HIGHLY suggest rewatching season 1 over again. director's cut or not, doesn't matter, but if you rewatch with the knowledge you know now (and from s2 even) you'll notice the show drops SUPER subtle hints here and there that you would never notice your first watch through. this applies to S2 as well!! As one of the examples.... *spoiler for previous episode: ** the first loop subaru spent in roswaal's mansion, he went to say goodnight to betty on the last day, and betty had a troubled look after he left, and talked about how it doesn't really concern her.....she noticed the curse on subaru that night! subaru even mentions offhandedly his 2nd loop how he sort of regretted not saying goodnight to betty that time
