Just want to share that Coach Ukai's Original VA Tanaka Kazunari passed away shortly after he recorded for the Season 3 Episode 8 of Haikyuu. It was such a memorable scene and line in the episode when he voiced Ukai shouting "Don't you dare look down! Volleyball is a sports where you are always looking up!". In Episode 9, Ukai's new VA was replaced by VA Egawa Hisao. Some may not have noticed the difference as the Egawa-san did a good job to voice act as close as to the VA Kazunari's Ukai. RIP Tanaka Kazunari-san. Also to add on, during Coach Washijo-sensei's time as a high school sports/volleyball player , he may not have been given the same chance or opportunity like Hinata to play and grow due to his height. As a result, he can be quite stubborn and is this way now and only looks to build a team, train and hone strong and tall players. In the after credit scene, to answer your question, yes the National Youth Training camp Kageyama has been invited to is where the ALL Japan National Youth team Wakatoshi Ushijima is currently in. You will learn more in Season 4. I can't believe you are made it to and have finished Season 3 and going to Season 4 which is my next best favourite Season and arc of mine. Your predictions and thoughts are very interesting and I can't wait for you guys to start Season 4. However, hopefully you already saw people posting in the comments the last few episodes you need to watch 2 OVAs before starting Season 4 or you will be confused with certain characters. The 2 OVAs are "Land VS Air" and "The Path of the Ball". Love your reactions and can't wait for you to watch Season 4 as it gets more intense and awesome from here on!!!

Killua Metham

Btw they actually made a 2 episode OVA for Nekoma and Fukurodani's top 4 battles. Its called "Land vs Air". Its a must watch before the start of season 4 as well as it being chronilogically in between the end of season 3 and start of season 4. <3

hinata

NICE 3 EPISODE 1 ONE

RorotheShadow

If you want to see how Nekoma and Fukurodani did in the national tournament prelim, please watch the OVA's "Land vs. Air" and "Path of the ball" exactly in that order. Please watch these two OVA's before you start season 4! Namely, in season 4, four new characters will appear and only in the OVA's will be explained who these four characters are. If you jump straight into season 4, you would get confused because you don't know where these characters are suddenly coming from. Also, these two OVA's are very entertaining, especially if you like Nekoma 🥰🥰🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛ By the way, there are only four seasons of Haikyuu! But I think there's supposed to be a movie that will be split into two parts, but I don't know when that movie will come out 🤷🏻‍♀🤷🏻‍♀ Also, every time I watch these 3 episodes of season 3, I feel the pain that the boys have in their legs in my own 😂😂 I've played a variety of ball sports myself for many years, including volleyball, and I know exactly what that pain feels like. Every single muscle pulls and tingles, and it really does feel like your legs are chained to the floor 😂😂 It really hurts like hell and the only thing keeping you going is the strong will to win!! 💪🏻💪🏻

WHATCH OAV BEFORE SEASON 4 AM GLAD MICHEL TEAR UP ON THE MATCH all of ur questions will solved in season 4

I think the reason why Hinata wasn't invited to the National Youth thing, is because he is too reliant on Kageyama. If he played with any other setter, they wouldn't be able to bring out the best parts of Hinata. Hinata with any other setter would only be a decent spiker, and below average at everything else, maybe with the exception of blocking. But with Kageyama's super sets, and his ability to adapt on the spot to the crazy plays that Hinata makes, he can bring Hinata's spiking to the top level.

elgringosanchez

the national youth members are busted u get to see the next little giant there sadly not my guy hinata Q.Q the next little giant is more busted then kageyama kinda sus

Jake Thompson

The Little Giant is a grown man, let the dude enjoy his weekend after a 9-5 at Big 5, jeez. Also at the end, what you're trying to say is that Hinata is very gifted, but raw. He's a good spiker but is average or worse at everything else, however his ability is extremely high. Kageyama is a top tier setter and probably an A in every other volleyball technique.

YESSS A 3 FOR 1 🤣🤣🤣 ily

Intro got me replaying it 100x 🤣 The way Ron was clueless doing it 🤣

AAAHHH!! My favorite season for a reason!! The scene with the team all holding up Ushijima always gets me so hyped! 🔥❤️ ❗️multiple people have already mentioned the 2 extra episodes/OVAs about the Tokyo teams but there's also a short 2min clip of Shiratorizawa after the match (I think was cut from the movie version) that yall should watch before the OVAs if you're interested! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Utjg2EmYqE8 And if yall do watch the OVA's a point that often causes confusion is that the OVAs includes 4 teams in the qualifiers. Since Tokyo is such a large region (population wise) they're allowed to send 2 teams to Nationals. In addition the region that is hosting the nationals gets an extra "host" invite so since Tokyo is hosting this year they get to send a total of 3 teams to nationals!

Jasper Tan

You dk how happy this release made me. Thanks for doing what you do.

HOLY SHITTTTTTTT

Maruey Coelho Paranhos

I sent this message in DM, but I'll leave it here in the comments too. Perhaps it will help. ---- Hey hey hey! ヾ(@^∇^@)ノ So, I'm here to help you guys watch Haikyuu. After the final episode of season 3, watch this extra. It's the same thing as Aoba Johsai's extra: Shiratorizawa ending cut - youtu.be/Utjg2EmYqE8 When you finish season 3, DON'T start season 4. You guys should watch these two OVA's first (the second one is the sequel to the first one): Haikyu!!: Riku vs Kuu (2020) - OVA Haikyu!!: Boru no Michi (2020) - OVA And then you can watch the season 4, known as Haikyu!! To the Top and Haikyu!! To the Top Part 2. I hope I could be of some help. Bye Bye. Appreciate y'all. ヾ(๑╹ヮ╹๑)ノ”

Teresa

But the animation does go downhill for season 4 unfortunately

Emily Cupchak

I'm so glad you guys watched them all together!! Do you guys have any plans for watching the Land vs Air OVA?? If so I would definitely watch it before season 4!!

Rudy Nayager

Every reactor who has watched this season as done exactly what you did in the last 3 episodes, running it back to back after each one hahaa- ain't no way you can wait when you don't have too

Jhn

didnt expect dropping all the 3 last episodes!! tyyy

JManuelRM

Coach Ukai's VA passed away during this season, episode 8 was his last episode. RIP Tanaka Kazunari

Majoz

yep, really sucks:/ it was so sad when it happend

Larissa Haig

I am so glad you guys enjoyed the 3rd season alot. This is just a suggestion would you do a video where you create your own Nationals team from everyone from seasons 1-3. Also please what the two OVAs that deal with Nekoma. I am also happy that you called Semi Eita #3 on Shiratorizawa Suga's twin. Like I said there are some of us that think Semi and SUga are long lost twin brothers and you guys saw the resemblance as well. I am glad that you agree with me on that. I did not think that either one of you would but you both did

shouvik das

Bruh the way this show is able to encapsulate all the hard-work, determination, passion and emotion of these players and project it onto the audience is next level. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would tear up watching a sport anime or any sport media and think it could make me so emotional just because they won.

Phyllis

It's not as good as the first 3 seasons but it isn't that bad.

Splahes

Okay Ron wtf was that intro🤣

Joshua Lopez

Yeah, overall not as good, but half of Season 4 happened during COVID, so can't be helped. I feel like the story is great though and carries through.

Bibi

we need to send yall some Haikyuu merch lol

Brooks

NOW IT'S TIME FOR YOU GUYS TO WAIT 3 YEARS BEFORE WATCHING THE NEXT SEASON JUST LIKE WE DID! XD

ChocoBoshi

@ 1:11:14 The way I would describe Kageyama would be specialized and adaptable. He's all around a good player but, being a setter, his primary skills lie there. Where as with Hinata, while he is great at jumping the rest of his skills are unrefined and to compensate he is working towards being the best all around player he can be. To that affect I would say that of the two Kageyama would be more "one dimensional" though I think the usual connotation of that phrase wouldn't really describe either of them. A more one dimensional player might be Tendou since he isn't really shown to do much else besides blocking, he rarely receives and I think only spikes a handful of times. Though, again, that is because he is so specialized in blocking that he doesn't need to out perform others in any other category.

2023-06-06 10:59:09 hinata is a bundle of athleticism and instinct but as a volleyball player he's still kind of brand new. this is his first year playing with a team while most of the other characters have been playing since middle school or even earlier, so thats why it didnt surprise me to see hinata not get an invite like kageyama. he has extreme potential but he hasnt developed far enough for it to shine w/o kageyama's hyper-precise setting skills. kageyama on the other hand is a really well rounded player who is often hailed as a genius for his setting, and we've also seen him confidently pull off spikes as well though thats not the setter's wheelhouse. he shines in every area, making him an easy pick for recruitment for a national youth camp <3 (not me shitting on hinata i love him too hes just so much newer to the sport and his skills r still in development)

also the animation style will change in the next season! a lot of people hate on it but it actually brings the style of the series closer to how the manga looks, and a lot of the animation flaws in s4 are due to covid-related production issues and not the style adjustment so pls dont hate on it too hard 😭

CuddleBuddee

Quite a few reactors miss this, as they def don't show his lack of fundamentals in animation a ton. Mostly it's the shade, jokes, and criticism from his teammates(mainly Kagz LOL) about his lack thereof. Manchild Ushijima has gotten heat for his "trash talk" about Hinata from some people, when in actuality he's just being bluntly honest about his assessment of Hinata's polish as a volleyball player after a few sets in to their first meeting. I concur though, well said and just copy paste this in every Haikyuu reaction comment section plz lol jkjk

RIP Kazunari Tanaka, Coach Ukais VA The switch is a bit jarring. I think i remember reading that the new VA is killer bee from boruto also kuroobi from arlong park.

Another show that delves into the opponents backgrounds and helps you empathize with them is Hajime no Ippo.
