Exactly, while I really love the show, Rudy does have 1-2 of "those moments" per episode. Most aren't too bad but there were 1-2 episodes where I had to take a break watching. It's why I can't really recommend the show to everyone.

Nah, sorry. Re:zero is a good story, it's made with passion, not like the recent copy-paste animes. But it gets kinda messy and a bit boring in S2, it's trying too hard to be complicated. It's in the #top5isekai definitely, but Mushoku, Tensura, are animes made with passion too, but they're complex, yet easy to understand. Re:Zero has top tier music, neither animes i mentioned have so much good OPs/EDs and OSTs (soundtrack is like Hiroyuki Sawano level, almost).

Tbf Mappa and MadHouse can seem pretty similiar. If its serious with some to a lot humour AND pretty its most likely Mappa. If it's more mature, grim, pretty but not focused on graphic and not holding back on showing shit how it is then its probably MadHouse lol. At least thats how I always could tell which of em it is

I’ll pay big money for y’all to even watch this show. It’s filled with adventure, action, dark fantasy, romance, family drama, social anxiety, living life to the fullest, animation is fucking stunning, music is great, but also controversially interesting too. Amazing watch. S2 for this anime comes out this summer. And this anime is confirmed to have several other seasons after S2, so it’s gonna be a long amazing journey to watch.

Isekai means another world. usually invovles the main character being reincarnated or transferred to another world. while it usually is fantasy setting it doesnt necessarily need to be. Black Clover is just straight fantasy setting, not isekai! hope that helps!

Hope you all atleast end up watching parasyte at some point. It's only 24 episodes but its truly a great show. Absolutely loved watching it years and years ago but I still remember most of it so clearly. Mushkou tensei has some ehh controversial moments in it that aren't taken well by everyone but that's fully up to you guys if you want to watch it or not. Parasyte slaps tho hope to see reactions to it in the future atleast :D

Yea isekai is fantasy you got it right. My favorite isekai right now is sword art online which a lot of people dont really like. The openings are really good. Lisa who does the first Demon Slayer opening does 2 sword art online openings so it would be cool of you guys reacted to the sword art online openings at some point.

Mushoku Tensei was definitely a controversial anime when it first dropped. There are some uncomfortable themes within the show that can illicit strong feelings. That being said, the story and animation is fantastic. I also personally like that they added the uncomfortable parts to the series, because it adds more depth to the characters.

I’d be excited to see reactions to both of these gems, especially since they’re different genres from what you’re currently watching and not as mainstream. Parasyte is seinen btw so it’s anime geared towards a older audience (Berserk is in this genre) Also 86 would probably be considered mecha since there’s robots. The main character in Mushoku Tensei isn’t very likable, (definitely don’t agree with his actions) especially in the beginning, but that’s sorta the point, to watch him grow as a person. So I’d try not to let that deter you from watching a really good isekai (but if it’s not for you then that’s understandable too)

As someone who has read most of the light novel for Mushoku Tensei, I can wholeheartedly say that it is my favorite anime/manga/light novel story to date, even more so than AOT or Chainsaw Man, and the studio that is adapting it for the anime killed it with the first season. With a season 2 hot on the way, it would be a very good time to start the first season once you wrap up some of these other shows you are watching

The main character of MT is a straight up pedophile, no ifs ands buts or maybes. That's the hurdle you have to get over mentally before you even bother potentially wasting your time with the show. If you can compartmentalise that shit in some way the show has a lot of other stuff going for it that you will enjoy, but you have to be able to stomach the main character. Not gonna pass judgment on anyone for liking the show or the light novel, but that's just the reality.

Yo Ron's catching on! afaik mappa was founded by the same co founder for madhouse, so seeing similarities in the art styles is pretty warranted as they probably have staff and artists working across both studios

I think if you want to get into Isekai's I really recommend "Reincarnated as a slime", it's great in the fantasy and isekai aspect. "Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?" is also something I really recommend for really good fantasy but it isn't an Isekai I believe. Don't make assumptions by its name tho coz I know what it sounds like its gonna be, but it's waayyy better xD. I don't think they will. They are already feeling kind of weird about the fan service in Food Wars, where the characters are both at least the same age and they are drawn way more adult-like. Whereas in Mushoku you have a fully grown man perving around as Rudeus. I imagine that would make them wholly uncomfortable and don't believe they are desensitized enough to anime.
