Y’all are right, they haven’t had a coach. They have a faculty advisor and a student manager but no coach. I can’t wait to see what y’all think about Oikawa. He’s a character and yes, technically the enemy but I’m still like 🫶🏽😍.

I wholeheartedly agree! Getting an opinion of a character before they’re able to get to know them is a bit of spoiler in my mind. It would be better for them to go in with a blank slate without any influence

Let them watch the show. They can hate him if they want because its how his character is portrayed in the beginning. U telling them he'll get better as a character is kinda of a spoiler. Let them have their fair share on seeing Oikawa for the very first time. But yes, I too love OIKAWA!

Not my intention but ok. I'm not stopping them to feel how they would meeting Oikawa for the first time but just telling them not to judge a character too quickly in this wholesome anime. They can still share their views and opinion. I just hope they can enjoy and view all the characters in Haikyuu with an all clear broad perspective and mindset. Cheers!

Oikawa's definitely an integral character to the show, but not my favourite. I won't say who yet since they haven't been introduced. But, I'm sure a lot of those that have seen the show could "guess" who it is! :P

Fun fact ron: Bill Russell was a player coach back in the late 60s (for the celtics 🤮). The NBA collective bargaining agreement however now prohibits the use of player-coaches.

I understand where you're coming from Phyllis, but, just how you experienced a change in opinion for Oikawa, I think its only fair for them to experience it that way as well. By saying "not to judge a character to quicky" indicates a reveal that they should experience with no prior knowledge of.

Everyone asking them to not judge Oikawa or to be open minded as their opinion on him will change should not mention this in my opinion. You can say Oikawa is your favorite but just end it at that. Let them decide how they want their initial reactions to be and then we can view their genuine opinions change rather than them already expecting to like a particular character.

I get what you mean. It does get to me a little when new people to anime or even young people judge characters and start trash talking. I'm not talking about Ron and Michelle but there are others out there who do so. Maybe because I'm those 'old people' who have been watching anime for ages, but I've learned not to judge characters too quickly and since I know they usually would have a backstory to why they are that way.
