tbf sukuna’s domain that they keep showing (inside the ribs) is not a domain expansion, he referred to it as innate domain. remember, his domain expansion looked like some typa gate/arch/monastery

Gojos domain had a physical barrier to it too, which you could see in his fight against Jogo. Jogos domain was black and when it broke there was a white domain inside it. In this case, it wasnt Sukunas domain that counteracted the other one, it was just that with Yuuji inside it, Sukuna had been touched by the curse the second time and he had warned him before that he wouldnt allow it again. Thats why Sukuna attacked him, thats all. So, Itadori isnt just automatically safe in anybode elses domain unless Sukuna decides to come out and lay out his domain.

This was not a case of Sukuna "canceling out" a domain like what Gojo did. All domains essentially guarantee that you WILL hit the enemy with your ability. This being said Mahito's ability is basically an instant kill IF he can touch you by touching your "soul". When Itdaori dropped in his "soul" was instantly touched by Mahito and basically Sukuna got triggered by his soul being touched.

When Itadori asked Gojo if he could beat Sukuna he didnt show any worry, thats pretty imporant.

The reason the building Domain Expansion wasn't an orb like Gojo and Mahito is it was "incomplete" so it wasn't properly made and basically just "spilled" out changing the terrain but not doing anything except being a building.

Mahito's Voice actor might be familiar if you have watched Sword Art Online (Eugeo) Or Black Clover (Yuno) His list of anime he is in is INSANELY long. He is credited in 156 different projects as a voice actor so yeah... XD

Only sukunas domain is mental (although that’s not exactly what’s happening since they didn’t explain it i won’t) every other domain is physical, Gojos affects your mental state but the domain itself is physical
